Found some info (not sure how accurate).
Assuming the DOBs and DODs are correct, other ancient GB members were Lyman Swingle (91), Karl Klein (96), James Booth (94), George Gangas (98). They must put something in the tea at Brooklyn.

I think Freddy Franz was 99 when he died? Barber has just croaked at 102 (or 101?). Albert Schroeder was 94 when he cashed in his chips last year. How old was Henschel? John Barr is 94 and is still giving gilead graduate talks!!!
Geez it sounds like a list of old nazi's.
The only exception I can think of was Lloyd Barry. I think he was only in his early 70's when he snuffed it.
What is the average age at death of all deceased GB members? Anyone know? I'd be surprised if it wasn't quite a bit higher than the US national average for males.
When I was a kid growing up in der troof I used to believe it was Holy Spirit that gave them their longevity. Obviously not having to do normal work and having all your physical needs catered for for most of your life is the real reason. -

Why can't the GB retire at a certain age, say, once they hit a youthful 85 at least lol?
For how many years was Barbour so decrepid that he contributed absolutely nothing?
Pathetic in its truest sense. -

suggestion from a current JW
by zarco inif i may as bold as to suggest a few readings/listenings for current jws.
the "demotion" of jesus to a position far lower than what philippians 2:11 teaches is demonstrated in a talk by lt and in several "threads" by auldsoul.
links are copied below.

Had a quick scroll through the first page of both clickable links, but saw nothing about Philippians 2:11. Littletoes experience goes on for over a dozen pages...

Will Earth's Rulers Ever Serve Jehovah? (Rev. 21:24)
by bjc2read indoes bible prophecy show earth's rulers will serve jehovah?
(revelation 21:24).
have you ever wondered about the expression "kings of the earth" found in revelation 21:24?

Zeroday, clearly this thread is designed for persons who believe in God and have an interest in bible prophecy. It's not a thread about debating God's existence or the bible's inspiration. Why don't you try respecting that instead of hijacking this thread like some kind of annoying juvenile.

Happy are those who are shunned!
by Gill inhappy are the shunned, since they will have peace and quiet!!!
truer words were never spoken.. for all of you who understandably miss your family, just think of the troubles those of us have to endure when some of our jw family refuse to shun us and make it their lifes work to 'encourage' your return to the cult with threats of imminent death by their ever loving god!.
my mother!

Reading that was kinda sad. Your mum is being very harsh, but responding in kind isn't going to help Gill. If you want her to respect your position it might pay to respect hers. Calling her God a 'homicidal maniac' etc is just throwing fuel onto the fire. Do you both want to heal things between you or just hurl hurtful insults at each other?

Very nice, and discreet. A potent mix: the beauty, naturalness and simplicity of the poppy flower(but with its evil potential) combined with the deadly menace and intricacy of the spiders web.
Its very alluring and erotically irresistible: I feel like getting down on my knees and giving it a little kiss.
Lately I've had an insane idea to get a tattoo of the tetragrammaton across my heart? Warped huh. -

Do the JW'S know what a cult really is?
by ButtLight ini didnt!
but again i was quite young.. i know this stuff has been posted in the past.....but for the heck of it, i wanted to see what others believe cults consist of.....so i googled this.

I'm very surprised the list does not contain shunning of members who leave the cult.
The description that a Christian cult is one that 'departs from orthodox Christianity' is a bit silly. What, you're in a cult just because you don't believe in the trinity and an immortal soul?
Nonetheless, sadly there are many cultish elements in the JW's. The main ones are the complete lack of open enquiry and tolerance of dissenting views and the doomsday approach.
I don't think they are an out and out cult..they just use some serious fear/guilt/mind control methods, but you can say that about almost any religion if you try hard enough.
Islam is most definitely a cult according to that list. -

It's called 'Good Friday' for either of two reasons: it could be short for 'God's Friday', similar to how 'Good bye' means 'God be with ye', but more likely because Christians consider it 'good' in the sense that Jesus' redemptive work for the saving of the world was accomplished (by his death) on that day.
