I don't think there is anything particularly funny about someone being an alcholic, if that is what your boss is. He needs help.

"Harry Peloyan was visibly upset because he wasn’t chosen. He went to Lloyd Barry and asked him face-to-face why he wasn’t appointed. Lloyd said that Ted Jaracz blocked Harry’s appointment. And Harry knew why. It was because of his doggedness to get the Society’s sexual child abuse policies changed."
WOW. Barbara, can you please expand on this?

I'm livid & angry & sick!!!
by mamochan13 ini've finally had the opportunity to read the october 1, 2005 watchtower regarding education.
even though this board had already prepared me for what i was going to be seeing, it still surprised me.
i cannot believe that they are still demonizing post secondary education.

Now stop that. The end is just around the corner. How will people get saved through becoming a JW if all the pimply young pioneers are studying at University. And anyway, there is dignity in all labour, including toilet and carpet cleaning.

The Watchtower's Unbalanced View of the Internet
by VM44 inin articles concerning the internet, some of which have been titled "a balanced view of the internet", the watchtower devotes the first paragraph or two to the benefits that the internet offers and has provided.
.
then for the rest of the article they go on and on about the dangers and evils of the internet.. they have been consistent in writing in this manner in all the articles they have written concerning the internet.. can the watchtower itself truly be said to have a "balanced" view of the internet?.

making 1914 crumble
by googlemagoogle inyet another 1914 thread?
there are plenty of threads already about chronology, babylonian kings, egyptian kings, median and persian kings, there is also lots of information available about old bible-students and jw literature.
even a simplified chronology including "fallen baby" and "evil duck" is available somewhere on this site.

i called bethel RE: voting...
by in a new york bethel minute in.
still not a conscience matter... although for the countries that demand that everyone register and actually walk in the booth to cast a vote, a witness may, if his conscience allows, register and go into the booth and add a new box labelled "jesus christ", then checkmark that box and vote for him... hahaha cool eh?!!!.

I'd draw a box and vote for 'The Watchtower Society' cuz they share the same ideals as the UN

2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and then what?
by truthseeker inin just a few weeks, this year will end and a new one begins.
nothing special, just 2006.. but when you analyse the jw doctrine, it is another nail in their already 91 nail studded coffin.
the watchtower has for decades taught that jesus' presence and rulership began in 1914. since changing the generation of 1914 doctrine, a whole decade has passed, with little in the way of anything new.

I think in the few years leading directly up to 2014 the JW's may get a small surge in growth, similar to the 2000 phenomena. It's human nature to pick a date in the future that looks like it might have some significance, even if there is absolutely no foundation to it. But if the big A doesn't come in 2014 I reckon there will definitely be a not insignificant dropping off in growth as more and more JW's start scratching their head wondering why on earth Jesus has been present for 100 years but done nadda towards the planet. It will be a bit like what happened after 1975 but probably less so. More will start to get suspicious, as they did when 1994 rolled around and the end hadn't come before the 'generation' of 1914 had died off. Because of the negative growth after 1914 The Society will then probably bring into play their already hinted at '120 years as in the days of Noah' application to 1914. So overall I don't see many changes in the next 10 years. The Society are only interested in the numbers game, ie, growth growth and more growth, numerically and financially. They never do anything until the numbers start going into the red.

Actually I think Undercover's little scenario is really lame and petty. I could think of better ways to have fun with a JW at the door.
