Does the Watchtower Society Monitor this Board???
by integ inmaybe this has been addressed before, but after reading certain comments about people being "outed", i wonder if the wts really monitors this site?
if so, to what extent?
or is it just individual elders etc.?.

Hardly. If they had some kind of official arrangement to monitor these kinds of boards then it would have come out by now through someone like Barbara Anderson or another Bethelite. But I have no doubt that a goodly number of Bethelites have a secret peek quite regularly. Curiosity is a powerful thing.

They told me to send them a letter
by Honesty ini called the wtbt$ service department yesterday afternoon and mentioned that in times past the brothers would enter into public forums with members of christendom to prove their doctrines false.
the publications always stated that the brothers always won these open discussions by refuting christendom's doctrines by using only the bible.
i then challenged the wtbt$ to meet me on an open forum to discuss the following subjects:.

It's standard practice for any business or corporation, which is basically what the WTS is, to tell obnoxious complainers and eccentrics to 'put it in writing'. The matter can then be duly ignored in the hope that they will just go away and bother someone else.

If the "Pay attention to Daniel's Prophecies" book is old lite why study it
by booker-t ini was going into the donut shop the other day and a jw's lady approached me and tried to offer me the watchtower and awake magazines.
she told me that she has been a jw for over 35 years and that she really enjoys "bookstudy" because of the info they are receiving from the "pay attention" book.
i looked at her slightly surprised because i thought jw's thought all of the info in the revelation book and pay attention to daniels prophecies book was "old light".

It's all still highly relevant to 99% of dubbies because most of the interpretations proferred in the 'prophetic' books, (Revelation Climax book, Isaiah books, Daniel book) all stem from the premise of the exclusive JW replacement theology that any good prophecy relates to JW's and any bad prophecy relates to Christendom, and that Jesus returned and inspected his earthly temple in 1914-1919. Since most dubbies swallow all this stuff without blinking they think it is beneficial to study the Daniel book. It's sad really.

I did Brazilian Jujitsu for 6 months. Loved it, but it's hardcore. Most stand up arts are ultimately just a lot of hand-flapping, tradition and fancy show-boating. Great for fitness, self-confidence, etc, but won't work in the street. A good ground-fighter with great take-down skills will whip you everytime, as the Gracies proved.

Breakthrough with JW mother - Stunning Anti Witness !
by diamondblue1974 ini thought i would share this with you as i am still a little bit stunned to say the least.
my mother who is a longstanding jw came to stay over the christmas period as my uncle had past away and she wanted to be more local to the family, that way she could attend the funeral and provide some support to her remaining brothers and sisters.
she lives a considerable distance away from me at this moment in time.

Excellent. I reckon you handled it very well, staying away from any emotionalism and just sticking to solid facts that you have really done your homework on. You mother seems a reasonable person and rather untypical of many dubs who tend to get all hot under the collar at anything even remotely 'apostate'.

What Advice Would You Like To Give JWs And Potential Ones?
by minimus inanything you'd like to say???
?

Research, research. Don't decide some belief or interpretation is true until you have considered a number of different views. Trust yourself to tell what is true and what is false after having considered a reasonable number of views on any given belief or interpretation.
This is the big problem with JW's...they are only getting what they have inherited from their parents and from the organisation and have been brainwashed into resisting the consideration of alternative views.
