You are right 10p, the answer to evolution and the understanding of the scriptures have not been solved. Until then we humans will be in a kind of limbo, always learning but never having the final answer we so desire.

Is True Religion Possible?
by R.Crusoe inconsidering any religious presumption to be that we have fallen from perfection, is it realistic to expect an imperfect memeber of our speceis to fare any better than a perfect one who failed initially?.
considering the often added feature of multiple deceptions and the rampant claim of an evil superpower who tricks what we see as truth in an angel of light format, can it seriously be expected that we have the mental wherewithall to accurately decipher truth from lies and also cope with all our biological urges often branded evil?.
or is the truth that our biology is perfectly natural and our preoccupation with 'holy' in fact even dirties natural and beautiful gifts?

I Pondered God's Existence Today, and
by journey-on inponder this scenario:.
an alien "scientist" totally unfamiliar with the human and its anatomy comes to earth and sees a human sleeping.
it sees no other humans around, so has no frame of reference to evaluate this creature nor understand what it is doing.. the alien slices into the mans skull and pulls out the brain.

I have lost all desire to study the bible... This sucks...
by cognac ini just feel that the bible was put in place so that people can use it for guidelines and so forth.
i don't think that you have to know everything to be accepted by god.... the only problem is, is that i no longer study with my husband either.
now, he's not seeing the truth for what it is and starting to revert back to jw land... but, just the thought of studying anymore makes me sick... it's just, when you study so much after awhile you just can't take it anymore... i would like to actually enjoy my life a little bit.... i'm sick of trying to prove my viewpoint.

Also, recall John 5:39 ""You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life." Yes, Jesus was right...we all search the scriptures because we are looking for "eternal life" Jesus said he has life to give. What does mean? Life on Earth later in time or Life in Heaven after we die? I can understand what you are going through cognac, the answers are not clear. We only become more confused the more we read the Bible.

I had the same trouble with the WTS interpretation that you did Irkr. Irkr said: "This is probably one of the key doctrinal problems I had with the org. If you buy into the teaching that the bible was divinely inspired, protected and translated so that it could be faithfully transmitted 2000 years to us today- why did God spend all of that energy to protect a prophecy about 9 guys going to jail for a few months??? And all of this rich, figurative language in Revelation is actually about a tract campaign that no one remembers today or cared about at the time!!??? Oh and a few conventions of a few thousand people where the main event was a prophecy about 1925 that never came true??!!!"

Christians do not read....Mark Twain "Mysterious Stranger"
by dawg ini was wondering if any of you have ever read "mysterious stranger" by mark twain aka samuel clemons.
the last 6 pages he really goes off on god; i loaned it to a friend of mine and he said he felt like he was having an out of body expierence.
i have my own beef with god and feel the need to vent for a moment; the best i can say to our buddy in the sky is that he really doesn't give a crap about us what so ever if this stranger exists at all?
