  hi all, it's been a long, long time since i have posted.

  maybe its because i stopped giving a crap about this religion.

  at the same time, i meditate on how 5 generations of my family have suffered believing the lies perpetrated by it.

  so i went to the english meeting last sunday, friends who don't know what i know wanted me to go with them.. the circuit oversser is brother rucker.

  he started off by saying, "now why do you think that jehovah chose you to be in his organization?

  what makes you special?

  " and ofcourse while hanging he said "lord lord why have you forsaken me.

  " but the watchtower puts a positive spin on this saying he as god's son wasn't doubting or changing his mind...what do you think?

  JW'S: WHAT A LOVING BUNCH!

  i just found out that one of my moms friends is in the process of being taken to the cleaners by her scumbag son-in-law and her own daughter---both who are witnesses.

  she's been widowed for several years now and, like many witnesses, her husband had no life insurance (why bother----the new system was going to be here long before either of them got sick or died right?

  ) and she had never worked outside the home.. anyway, she managed to save enough money through working part time (she gets part of her husband's pension but it's only about $800.00 a month) and she put a small downpayment on a place to live.

  after my last post where i asked for advice on how to handle whether i should tell an elder that we've been going to church, i decided to tell a local elder who's related to me through marriage.

  this was to save my dad having to 'report' me (i'd told my dad we go to church).

  anyway, i had an interesting chat with him and he said some very personally revealing things re.

  Making decisions is your own privilege and by the looks of it, you've handed it ok. I'm not at all amazed about the fact that these elders had tears in their eyes but nevertheless did not give you enough room to undermine their shaky foundations....You must have been a well appreciated person before that. It may also show how "mature" these elders have taken it, and kept to the script along the lines of 2 Tim 2:23 (+24) making parting of ways easier.
  
  As you said, it not diminishes the fact that they are deluded....
  
  Congrats on your exit. I'm glad for you and your wife. Enjoy your freedom.

  i have been wrestling with the idea of da'ing myself for close to a year now.

  but there is a small area in my subconscious that whispers "this is not a good idea.

  i haven't been to a meeting in over six months, no service in seven years.

  By the tone of your post, I would say it does not feel nice to be in such a prison. But really, it is one of your own making.
  
  You can step out of it, whenever you want. The wals that surround you, keep you going over Da-ing or not, are imaginary, not real.

  on september 1, 2008 me and my wife (who posts here as 'amber rose') had a baby boy.
