this is the first time, that i write here.
i'm from dk, so forgive me, because my english is'nt always quite good.
i have often read in here, and it's a great web-site.
Hi Manjana, welcome to this forum.
How do you pronounce your screenname? Like Mañana, tomorrow?
Anyway, I visited Danmark a few times in the course of my life and always think of it as a very nice country. Some good memories!
However I cannot say whether or not the rumour hold water or not, I would not be surprised. Any company with some capacity to planning would secure their assests. Many countries have tried some nationalisation schemes. I believe one is going on in Equador and Venezuela and a biggie in Russian Federation. The WT did not secure their Magdeburg properties and are still mourning about it's loss.
So, yes, it may be very feasable they try to do that.

i was just skimming through the awake magazines we got on last sunday.
the cover story is about morals.
the thing that immediately caught my eye was the explicite standpoint that the morals of this world went into decay in 1914. .
I was just skimming through the awake magazines we got on last sunday. The cover story is about morals. The thing that immediately caught my eye was the explicite standpoint that the morals of this world went into decay in 1914.
It left me with a question: What morals? Of which time frame? Is it the victorian morals? What did really change, provided something changed at all because of the war. They quoted some guy saying something to the effect that before 1914 life had so much more to offer, indicating that everything had it's place, followed by a war that put everything upside down and the roaring 20 where those earlier conventions of discourse were hardly of any use anymore.
But, was it really that different? Did or did people not live together without being married? How about promiscuity? Never happened? How about murder, steeling, fraud, rape, you know, the lot.
I poses an official biography about one of my ancestors. He was a high ranking military officer in the early and mid 18 hundreds. As was custom in the country he served, he had a concubine, plus a dozen kids running in the backyard. Everybody did it, no exceptions. It did not hamper his career....what's new: may be the legal framework to facilitate "alternate lifestyles", but that only reflects what has been there for centuries.
The WT seems to forget that the war in the 17th century called the 30 year war brought the whole of Germany to ruin and people of Sweden, Danmark, France have also paid a dear price to finance the petty campaings of their souvereigns.During a period of 30 years hundreds of thousands of soldiers roamed, plundered and murdered the cities and countryside to finally extort a 7 million Taler (aprox. 58.500.000 troy ounces of silver eq. $ 775.000.000,=) indemnification of the bankrupt Holy Roman Empire. This sum was financed by bankers and some cities were still paying interest on these loans 200 years later. Ring a bell? Yes, the same happened right after WO I when Germany had to pay an indemnification of $ 33 billion.
Bavaria claimed to have lost during this war: 900 villages and 80.000 families. Talking about depopulation....given the fact that europe's population was smaller in size then than in 1914, the depopulation may have been worse than in those latter years (although size does matter). Some reports show a decrease in population in cities of 33% and in the countryside of 40%. Pommern, Mecklenburg, Schlesiën, Brandenburg, middle and south - west Germany counted a surviver quote of only a third. Compare that to WW I.
It would take about 100 - 200 years and a revolution in agriculture to surmount the impact of a depopulation of such an extent, not to mention it's impact on trade and economic infrastructure.
The upside was that although the war had been devastating enough, culture thrived, even boomed( Kepler, Böhme, etc.) A further secularisation took place thus separating church and state more and more. On top, the West-Fälische peace conference featured something new: a European order of states with principal equal rights and conflict solving through negotiations.
Sound familiar? Those kind of effects can be seen after the Great War as well.
So, the skindeep WT proza is not convincing. It is a call to emotions according to the usual WT public talk outline: The world is bad, so bad, depressingly bad. Did you know ....fill in something horrible about sickness, wars, famine, landmines, pollution and environmentals disasters, turn to revelation 21:3,4 and leave the hall hapily ever after. (Yawn)

although it is sometimes hard to put so many elements of a novel into a 2 hour screenplay and motion picture and you end up reading the book and then watching the movie and wish they would have included stuff they left out.
however there are sometimes when you might watch the movie and end up more impressed with the movie and grown more attached to the movie than the book.
can you think of any movies you thought were better than the book it was based on?
Finally-Free,
Are you referring to the Bourne sequel? If so, yes, you have a point. However, the bourne identity has been turned into a movie some years ago starring Richard Chamberlain. It follows the book quite closely. But it depends on whether you have read the book first or seen the movie first. I read the book first and found the movie .......not very thrilling.....
Oosterman Weekend (starring Rutger Hauer)was another movie, based upon the book written by Ludlum. That one I found very well done.

seriously,,, what was gods problem?
the story of babel bothered me for quite a while.
after all, satan made a few challenges right?
If you ever get talking to elders, ms, family, just bring this up in connection to the WT's understanding about the 2 universal issues since Eden...Just ask: Is God unjust? No, then rop the bomb: how does that reflect on our .....theology then?
See them running........though the best of them may say: well let's find out in the publications of the FDS (nothing significant published on this) or maybe suggest to write (nothing will come from this for they will inist oon looking at the abdundance of spiritual food(although very hard to grasp))
I already tried, and had some good laughs........

this week at the study of the revelation book there was a paragraph that said that god's kingdom would soon usher in a. paradise earth.
i realized that this book was printed 19 years ago.
my wife excitedly that i am taking her to europe soon would she be happy if i waited 3 years?
This is Freddy F's take on the matter. (taken from douglas Walsh.)
Page 20 (17)section C
Q: Is there , in view of the final arrival of Armageddon, any urgency in the need to preach the gospel of the kingdom throughout the world unto all nations? A: yes. We believe that the battle of Armageddon will arrive within the generation that began witnessing the events of 1914 and still continues witnessing the evidence of the fact that we are living in the time of the end of this world and the time of the presence of this established kingdom of God.
Page 23 (20) Section A
A: Yes we do. We realise that preserving our lives and proving worthy of everlasting life in Gods new world depends on our obeying the command to preach the good news of the established kingdom, because those who do not align themselves on the side of this kingdom will be destroyed in the battle of Armageddon, and according to the divine rule which is given in Ezekiel’s prophesy, chapters 5 and 33, God constitutes as witnesses a watchman class, and he commands this watchman class to give a warning of the coming of the battle of Armageddon, the great executional sword which shall destroy all the adversaries of Jehovah God and of his kingdom by Jesus Christ, and there Jehovah God tells the watchman class that id they fail to warn the wicked of the coming of the executional sword the wicked man shall die all right because of his own wickedness but because he failed to receive a warning at the mouth of the watchman class God will require the blood of the wicked of the watchman's hand......

Proplog2,
When read against the background of the demise of the judiac systems, it makes perfectly sense.
When read against a different background it is necesary to start looking for something big. And that is exactly what has happend. For 2000 years people have been looking forward so something as the end of times and the lords return. Yet, failed miserably. Including the standing on the treshold JW for more than 130 odd years.
