  2014 is not too far away except in the minds of the gb elite.. how do you think they will explain away 1/10th of the millenial rule of jesus christ with no paradise?.

  I believe it was 1979 the WT featured an article about 100 years of WT. I am inclined to say they will pass on 2014 in silence. I feel they will not dedicate a single jota to passing of 100 years since 1914. It will only increase awareness that something is not right. You know, with the generation back on par with the twenties....100 years of empty expectation........
  I my circle, I hear a lot of people wondering, not per se apostacysing...but then again.........

  Is True Religion Possible?

  considering any religious presumption to be that we have fallen from perfection, is it realistic to expect an imperfect memeber of our speceis to fare any better than a perfect one who failed initially?.

  considering the often added feature of multiple deceptions and the rampant claim of an evil superpower who tricks what we see as truth in an angel of light format, can it seriously be expected that we have the mental wherewithall to accurately decipher truth from lies and also cope with all our biological urges often branded evil?.

  or is the truth that our biology is perfectly natural and our preoccupation with 'holy' in fact even dirties natural and beautiful gifts?

  I suppose it depends greatly on definition. When it comes to institutionalized system I would say: no it would constitute a contradictio in terminis. When it comes to definition 4: A cause can be true. The same goes for a principle. I would say that in a relative way a such religion can be true.
  
  I came across this little gem: its incessant return to the same few themes, scenarios and questions; its meticulous examination and re-examination of banal minutiae for hidden meanings that simply aren't there; the cancerous way an idee fixe usurps other, more interesting thoughts -- is that it is confining, not rebellious, and not fascinating but maddeningly dull. This is about obsession. And I'm afraid that's what religion is really about.

  when you feel like what jws have done is wrong and you want to take a stand but on the other hand you also want your family to love you?.

  what, in the end, matters most?

  Making a stand can be done in many ways. Everyone of us has a different situation and has to consider how best to proceed. I would like to draw your attention to Martin Luther. He lived in in interesting time frame. And there are a few interesting circumstances which may be helpful in considering how best to proceed:
  
  During a vast period of time within the Roman Catholic tradition there have existed calls to return to the basics of the faith. Most of these calls were easily silenced by declaration of heresy, a bit like declaring apostasy within the JW. However, in the late middle ages a new movement had taken hold: Devotio Moderna of which Tomas a Kempis is a well known adherent and had been of great influence to Erasmus and the likes.
  
  The political map was quite intriguing. The Holy Roman Empire was a almagation of territories owned by counts, dukes, bishops, free imperial cities, principalities etc. The crown did not have very much to say. By converting to another tradition, a group of ruler was able to fend of the emperor, hence the Schmalkaldic League and it's predecessor the League of Torgau. The difference between the two was military capability. The latter was a force to be reckoned with.
  
  Luther's ideas were easily spread thanks to the new invention of printing press.
  
  Trade and easy access of money for bankers, traders and princes.
  
  Conflicts between the pope and the emperor created a vacuum of power and time to organise resistance to the catholic power house.
  
  There may be more details of interest, however, it shows that dissent will grow under the right circumstances, in this case corruption, decadency of the cloth, prize money, etc.

  I agree it would probably stir up something.....But when I saw the footage, especially the moment where the guy tried to hide behind a matras, I could not help thinking about it's impact on door peddlers. They believe in supernatural effects. Just imagine the looks on their faces.
  
  Mind you, my wife still does going from door to door. I would hate it if she was somehow injured. But I have to grin if she would come home one day and relate a story about how they are opposed in entering a suburb and all felt uneasiness. It must be the demons, for sure!

  there is a part from kerala india in in the april issue of awake.

  some history, daily life, culture bla bla blaand the dubs got 132 congos and everything is good.

  however they do not mention with a single word the perhaps very most interesting cultural aspect of kerala.
