great review Blondie!
I used to HATE these articles.....
Modest recreation, most music nowadays, reasonable size groups, etc. It's all so vague. So if some elder with a bug up his butt has different ideas than you he can make a big deal. UGHHH!!
We are going to take our kids on an EASTER EGG hunt! I can't wait. That's one thing I always wanted to do, I'm glad I can at least let my kids have the fun of doing it.

Still ANOTHER Elder says: "But what does it matter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
by Lady Liberty inwell, things are getting ugly around here!!

Go For it then! I agree, if you do help just one person then it's worth it. In my case, I am not surprised anymore by the blatant ignorance and bloodguilt.
Those who want to find out the truth will, and those who prefer tradition over truth will continue in that way also.
I know when I get to talk with someone about the issues I feel so good inside to prove it to myself again. It just reaffirms my belief that I have finally found the TRUTH. -

I know how mind boggling this can be. I really feel that people who answer this way to PROOF are those that mentally can not handle what the consequences will be if all they've ever believed is a lie. I really think it's the mind and bodies way of survival for these people.
When I first left the only illustration I can liken this too is if all your life you've been told the red crayon is blue and then one day you meet someone who says the red crayon is red. It makes no sense to your mind, almost incomprehensible.
IMO - you have reached more people than anyone I know with this info. You will not convince the majority I'm afraid. -

2006 Drama
by New Worldly Translation ini just heard that my brother has been picked to be one of the main parts in the drama at this years district convention .
i thought this was hilarious when my mother told me tonight.
i said was he gonna be jezebel so my mum thinking i was been sarcastic and derogatory about it changed the subject.

the last assembly I went too had a cast of who's who in our area. The "money" people basically! My brother-in-law was in it because of his outstanding position in the hall. Outstanding position my foot - the week before the drama he was barfing his brains out on a witness camping trip because he drinks too much. But of course, everyone turns and looks the other way because his daddy is the head dude elder in the area.
can anyone say "hypocrisy?" -

Just wondering what you think
by beaches ini am on my journey of discovery, and have lots of ideas going through my head abou the bible.
i am just wondering what different people on this board have come to the conclusion or what stage of thinking are they at about what role the bible plays in our lives.. my random floating thoughts and ideas:.
1) is inspired and gods message to us, but nt cancels all "laws" and we are just to follow jesus and god and be true christians not part of any religion.. 2) bible is book of stories that people way-back-when wrote in order to pass down verbalized morals and illustrations in ot.

beaches first off- welcome to this board!
When I first left, I felt so lost, so I CLUNG to the bible and tried to answer my questions just using that. I did answer some but what I found was that as a JW we were taught to translate the bible SO literally. I started reading books on the centuries when the bible was actually compiled and who actually wrote the bible books -(hint) - it wasn't who the society says wrote it.
I have come to appreciate the bible as an interesting historical book that has some wise words from a wise man named Jesus who once walked the earth, just like buddha, and ghandi, and other great leaders of their times. When you start looking at history and myths of ancient peoples you will be so shocked at the similarities in the bible.
Keep searching and reading. You are on the right path. -

Field Service
by XBEHERE inquestion for those of you still going out: do you actually still pretend to preach to people?
pretend interest in the latest mags so they will take them?
for me its easy since territory is so apathetic anyway i just dont bother overcoming any of their "conversation stoppers" my calls i am slowly, methodically telling them i wont be coming around anymore.

When I was reaching the end of my rope, field service and singing kingdom song were the two things I just could not do without feeling sick inside. FS was tough to get out of, but we hardly ever went the last few months and we did actually meet with the group once and say we had our own plans and then took the kids to Dunkin' donuts. HA!
Maybe just turn the 10 hours in a month and if wifey or elders ever question just say it's your business. Maybe faking hours will open up a conversation with her.
I feel for you. FS is the worst thing in the world when you know what you know.
