  Mary sent me another email.
  
  She is doing good and it sounds like she and her mom and daughter are all catching up somewhat.
  
  Her moms treatments are going to last for a few weeks so she is going to be busy over the next few weeks.
  
  She was very happy to hear everyone was thinking about her.
  
  She wanted outoftheorg's phone number so she can call them about a treatment her mom is doing.
  
  I can't send PM's so I was wondering if outoftheorg can PM me a phone number and I can pass it on to Mary or else just PM her yourself.

  so, i was at the library a few weeks ago and picked up a book from the free table and it's by this guy wimberly.

  it's from 1916 and he was some sort of preacher.

  i picked it up because it's so interesting how reading it is like reading old wt's and golden ages.

  So, I was at the library a few weeks ago and picked up a book from the free table and it's by this guy Wimberly. It's from 1916 and he was some sort of preacher. I picked it up because it's so interesting how reading it is like reading old WT's and Golden Ages. It's full of the same rhetoric from the times of Russell.
  
  I've tried to find some info. on this guy but have only been able to find this book for sale at different places. It's worth about $50. so I'm glad I picked it up! :)
  
  Anyhow, anyone ever heard of him???

  I just got an email from Merry.
  
  She is doing good, but didn't have time to go into details. She was at a library computer. She is taking care of her mom and daughter round the clock right now, but she says she is happy to do it.

  anyone who has been raised as a jw will most likely be able to relate somewhat to this.. my mother was bringing three children to the meeting and had an unbelieving mate.

  she was incredibly strict.

  i was an extremely unhappy child and teenager.

  I have an emotionally void mother who never showed us love or affection. She never wanted us, at least that's how she acted. I was scared I'd become just like my mom also. I'm a firm believer though, that you can make any changes you want to. You do not have to be like your parents. You CAN break the dysfuntional patterns.
  
  You are way ahead of the game already. You are AWARE of the issues that you and your mother had. So many people just avoid the issues and repeat the cycle.

  My mom is stepping up her not-so-subtle mind games with kids.

  my mom and her new husband (robo-elder with gb connections) have been trying to undermine us as parents so i have been on the offensive stopping it.

  we recently left to another state to get away from the jws.

  she has been sending letters to my oldest daughter about the assembly.

  It's funny because of course they miss them, but they have been busy with new activities and making new friends. As soon as those *wonderful* pics my mom-in-law sent got to my oldest (she saw the package on the porch - we couldn't hide it all) well, those pics made her cry. Just the effect my mom-in-law was hoping for!!!! (She hasn't cried once yet for her old friends or family)
  
  Fact is, my MIL and her hubby were up here a few months ago, (doing work for about a month) and never once called the kids to see them. Yet she sends them these letters about how much she loves and misses them. IT's SO SICK!! I won't let my kids be exposed to her tactics. The other thing that really hurts is she sends stuff for them and completely ignores our existence. I won't allow someone to set that example. So, no. She won't see the kids unless she stops her cooky indoctrination tactics.
  
  I told hubby that when he talks to her let her know that as far as I'm concerned if she ever speaks to me again - the conversation better start with an apology from her or I'm not interested in talking to her. She WAY overstepped her boundaries IMO.

  Each time I go to McDonalds I see..........

  each time i go to the mcdonalds near by, i see jehovah witnesses there.

  either for their morning break in the field service, or just an afternoon coffee, or an evening lunch i'll meet one or a few there.. last night i went to the drive through at mcdonalds, and noticed that the car in front of me looked familiar....and finally i saw that it was a brother.. i'm pretty sure you'll find mcdonald restaurants in the new system .
