I could place mags and tracts no problem, but I have never placed a book or engaged anyone in a true bible discussion because I had no idea what exactly I believed in and why I was to believe in what I believed or how I was led to believe what I did.

Were the "Pioneers" in your hall treated with favoritism by the Elders?
by booker-t init seems that all of the parts on the theocratic ministry school were given by the pioneers in my old hall.
also the elders were always complemented on how "sister pioneer" is so zealous and loves jehovah.
as if sister not pioneering hated jehovah.

Yes It was this way in our congregation. Nearly half of our elders are pioneers. Our congregation's motto "If you don't pioneer, your dumber then a box of rocks."

Most of the time I did, especially if it was a older lonely person who could talk about nothing for a long time. During the winter I could easily spend a hour or so in a nice warm house with a cup of hot coco or a bowl of homemade soup while the others sat in a freezing car. During the summer months I could enjoy a tall glass of iced tea while the others sat in the hot car. All I had to do was mention a scripture or two and I could cound the time, an RV and a mag placement. nice

My ramble . . .
I've got a math test coming up next week and I have not done very much of the required homework so I will spent much of this weekend doing catchup. I'm still thinking about breakfast, this morning I had a large flour tortilla wrapped around last nights taco meat and melted cheese. mmmmm cheese. I am also thinking about why I can't lose any weight. I am currently drawing up plans for an L shaped fluid end and I saved it as FLU-002 and speaking of flu I wonder if the Bird flu is going to be as bad as they say it is. What is the best way to remove aphids from an indoor plant? I just purchased STAR WAR III Last night! wahoo!!
. . . end ramble.

I was always told that a straight coffee enema (10 cups of strong coffee cooled to room temp held in for 15-30 min) helped to flush kidney stones and clean your Liver and that drinking 3 tablespoons of olive oil (mix with a little lemon juice for taste) 3-5 times a day will help lube your system to remove large gall and kidney stones quickly and dissolve small gall stones.
Its worth a try.

My Stepdad is really excited about his upcoming elders meeting, he said that they cancelled about half of the talks because a couple members of the governing body are coming. He says that "something big" is going on right now.

If raised JW - or in while young - how strict were your parents?
by Jamelle ini'm just curious to know where my parents register on the scale of strictness...
growing up, i felt absolutely smothered by my parents (mostly my mother).
the things i couldn't do were above and beyond the limitations put on the other young people in our hall.

-G rated movies only, up till I moved out
-Attended ALL meetings, no questions asked, if I had to miss a meeting I would have to attend that meeting in another cong.
-No School activities, Sports, clubs, games ect.
-I had to study with the family for the meetings Tues., Thurs. and Sun., Family Study on Mon. and Service Practice on Fri., regardless of how much homework I had. I spent many many night up till 2 am or waking up at 4 am to finish homework. (I was even late to my first job interview because of our Tues. study)
-Rarly was allowed to spent the night at a friends house, or have a friend stay at our house. On the few occasions when I was permitted, both my friend and I had to be out in Service with my parents the next morning, no matter how late we stayed up. My Step dad would call my friends house to make sure I was in bed at 9 pm and call again at 7 am to make sure I was up and again at 8:30 to make sure I was ready for Service.
-I was to have as little contact as possible with worldy kids from school. I was not permitted to go to any of their homes and the we not to come to our home. I was in a world of hurt when my parents came to pick me up and *gasp* I was talking to a cute worldly girl. (Water Boy -Girls are the Devil!!!)
-I didn't get to buy my first CD till after I moved out (5 years ago)
-No hooking up with friends, no going to the mall, four wheeling or anything that young JW's did.
-Not aloud to cuss as in saying Jeez, Gosh, Man and Darn.
-Every Vacation that we ever had revolved around an assembly, if it wasn't for Conventions we wouldn't have ever traveled.

Hello to all, and thanks for your kindness...
by james_woods injames here; exjw for about 25 years.
was "in" from 1963 to 1980 due to parental "guidance" beyond my own good sense.. have been to elder school, bethel, wthq, etc..., knew many of franz heretics in the mid-late 70 trouble from oklahoma city.. have many silly stories to offer...but for now just will say this - .
if your "god" was really going to come down here and kill everybody on earth except for the wt people who the society liked, would you not stand up to fly the first fighter jet against such a horrible alien?.

My first topic, my struggles with the dubs.
by the_leander infirst and formost i'd like to say thankyou to everyone who has ever posted here before, your posts have made me laugh, cry smile and frown.
up until about two weeks ago, i was nervous about posting here, tonight, at 5:04am as i write this, i am no longer so, the fact of the matter is, i really don't give a damn as to whether or not someone in the local congrigation reads this or not.
i'm not a jw, i never have been, and barring getting really steamingly drunk for a good few years on the trot or suffering some other similarly catastrophic brain trauma, i never will be.
