  Thank you so much for this. It is a great way to show people how to carefully examine what they are told.

  I read a formula in here several times. It seems like simple algebra:

  If we let "leaving the Organization = leaving Jehovah" then we can freely cancel like terms.

  The simplified equation would be, "leaving the Organization = leaving Jehovah" or "the Organization = Jehovah." To my mind, that should be enough to scare anyone away who considers God superior to man-made organizations.

  Disfellowshipping/ The Biggest Thing to Make You Believe We Had The Truth?

  i'm no watchtower apologist, but when i look back on it all, one of the biggest things that made me believe we had the truth was the shear fact that there was a zero tollerance for any and all conduct unbecoming of a christian: fornication, adultery, yada yada yada, many of the crimes the church with thier throngs of adhereants were allowed to get away with were unthinkable in the kingdom hall.

  am i missing something?.

  doing that which has been done to many of us is ,afterall, scriptural.

  Let's also not forget the thousands of disfellowshippings that have occured with the witnesses over "old doctrine" that now is not a disfellowshipping offence

  And they are not reinstated after the policy changes. Why? Because doing what you are told is the most important thing. If you unrepentantly don't do what you are told to do you are in line for disfellowshipping. In the case of changed policies, before you can get reinstated you must first demonstrate repentance for having done nothing wrong. Bullsh*t. How could anyone honestly meet that criteria?

  Jehovah's Witnesses can't meditate deeply. It gives them headaches. What they call meditating deeply involves mentally reinforcing the correctness of the propaganda they've been given, even if it directly contradicts the propaganda they were given last year. "Current Truth™" (a logical impossibility) is always correct even if they can't figure out how.

  The important thing is, never leave the ark. Correct me if I'm wrong: Jesus is supposed to be the means of salvation, right? So, when he says "just as in the days of Noah...," isn't HE the ark?

  The WT stopped printing dates for the end. Now they just say, "soon." Sometimes they say, "very soon." Sometimes they say the end is "rapidly approaching." And sometimes they remind that every day we are drawing nearer to the end.

  Every day we are getting farther away from the time when the generation that saw 1914 passed away.

  I just picked mine up today, too. I already know the Organization isn't the right one, but I have not read Franz book yet. I have tried to avoid all "apostate literature" except Web sites, so I could honestly tell the elders I had not read such books. I can't wait to find out how right my decision to walk away really was.

  All of you have such a story! It is nice to feel like I can finally share my story.

  Thanks for the warm welcome, Shera! After some recent developments in my life, I feel like I can finally come in out of the cold. From what I read here this place doesn't have a "bitter" feel to it. I think I have found a place to call home. I already feel like I know everyone.
