as we start the new book in our book study i am already missing the exciting time we had studying the revelation book.
though many in our bookstudy who were studying for the first time found it tough in the start, our book study overseer made it very easy.

See how they mess with your mind? They title a book "Then is finished" without telling you that "then" refers to the "Climax."

But we know it isn't really the Climax, yet, because right there in the title they admit that the Climax is only "At Hand!"
So, there will be another one eventually. The Revelation Climax book turns 20-years-old this year.

Don't you think they're valid points? If the god described in the Bible is just a primitive tyrant then it casts serious doubts on the claims of his followers that he is a loving god.
No. I don't, anyway. I don't think the God described in the Bible is a primitve tyrant, I think it served the interests of some people to describe God that way. I don't think the Bible accurately reflect God so much as it accurately reflects certain people's notion of God and assumptions about God.
But then, the Old Testament is the source of the vast majority of the "serious doubts" raised. Using the perceptions of nomadic tribesmen to judge whether there is a God or what sort of God there might be seems peculiarly invalid. I seriously doubt whether that would be a method likely to result in an accurate analysis of the issue.
where i live we have received 10 inches of rain within the last 24 hours..... another 12 to 17 hours of the same are expected!, some areas have gotten close to 30 inches.

it mindboggles me sometimes.

I knew young people who used pioneering as cover for "gross sin," and some guys who became pioneers because there were lots of sexually repressed females who were pioneers.
With the new lower hour requirement, I expect to see a LOT more of this kind of "hooking up" going on.

Well, Jerry, I suppose it's fitting that what will probably be my last post should show up on your last thread, eh?
It is great to hear that you are no longer OnTheWayOut. The best feeling washed over me about two months ago when it finally hit me that I am no longer an ex-JW. Very few of my offline friends even know I ever was a JW, and they usually only find out when they start discussing a friend or relative they have who is starting to be interested in JWs or who is a JW.
I have a great life, with a great job, and a great wife who is a member of a silly, insignificant religion. It now almost feels inconsequential that I was ever a part of the same silly religion.
This place, and the people here, helped me in dozens of ways. I don't think I will even bother to find an alternative. I'll probably just keep in touch with people who want to keep in touch with me and go live a good, long, useful life.
Jerry, to you, a tip of the hat on the way out of THIS door, and a wish that life will offer you lots of doors to choose from . . . and may they all have clear windows so you can choose well.

without a support structure and generally having lost even family support through the disfellowshipping/disassociation policy, returning seemed the only way to establish a modicum of stability.

kids came home from their dads this morning and zach said, "mom, did you know your gas door and cap was off?
" so i sprinted downstairs and investigated....i had just over 1/2 tank and now over night i'm down around 1/8 tank...i'll report it to the management but i don't think the police will do anything since it's not over a certain amount lost.
my car doors were locked and i don't see damage on the outside.
I live in Franklin county.
Franklin County was my favorite place to live until I moved to Hershey, PA.
We used to rent an apartment on Concourse Loop just off Schrock Road, near the intersection of Schrock and Karl. I worked in Westerville, at the time. On Dempsey Road, between Westerville Road and Sunbury Road.
