  Favorite: the Evolution/Creation book cause it actually had science in it. Well, now I know that it was total pseudoscience, but at the time, I thought all the pics of the mitochrondria etc were cool. and I liked that I knew a lot about that stuff.
  Worst: United in Worship book (small + blue) cause it was my baptism study book too and had SSSOOOOOOO many drag-ass questions you had to answer. Barf...

  Convention Report - Deliverance At Hand?

  so i just got back from the convention - yes, feel pity on me... i had to attend all three days, spend money on a crappy hotel, sleep in a crappy town, sit on my ass for 8 hours a day, and all just to hear about the same old crap you can read in any watchtower.

  i didn't take notes because not only would my head have exploded from the sheer boredom and stupidity, but i would be responsible for all your heads exploding as well.

  are there any highlights?

  then i went and checked out the first topics- totally right- simon had actually removed a topic for being apostate-sympathizing.

  How could the WT shut this site down?
  no one is citing their sources without referencing :) and most of all people are just excercising free speech...
  Also, thank you Simon for putting this site up!
  The story of teh evolution of this site is really neat.

  Special Awake, Special Campaign - Are JWs Creationists?

  the wts is doing it again, another special campaign.. the september awake will be a special edition titled, is there a creator.

  the entire magazine will focus on jehovah the creator, jehovah's witnesses are they creationists, was the earth created in 7 literal days, a special ypa article dealing with creation.

  the congregations are instructed to order additional copies (in addition to their regular supply) of this awake to place in the territories.. why all the special campaigns?

  Maybe it is in response to all the hullabalu about "Intelligent Design" vs. actual science being taught in the schools.
  This could be to let the r+f that they are really still hard line crazy fundies lest they start thinking critically 'bout science...

  So: does anyone know the story and how the site changed from pro-JW to the best apostate site around?
  I've read a few of the original posts but can't go through all to see when ya'll went to the "dark (light?) side"

  because a female is supposedly born with all of her eggs intact that would make us all our mothers age.

  let me see... calendar wise i am still 52... if i were my moms age i would be turning 99 this year!

  Actually I have heard now they know that women can produce new eggs (don't ask for a reference cause I don't have one... sorry).
  AND one thing: sperm is cheap. You guys can stand in line until or IF the time comes that you get lucky.
  OR if you don't like that reasoning you might agree that guys having to "control their urge to womanize" is about as rediculous as humans having to "control" their urge to physically fight wil any other human who comes near their food.

  Trading off rules at the local supermarket.

  in the super market today at the only express check out where a customer can only go through with ten items or less and pay in cash, a woman was putting out about 30 or 40 items and the cashier girl said nothing.

  she even paid with a visa card delaying me even more.

  here is the twist however, the woman was pretty and i enjoyed being near her and looking at her body so the transgression of the rule came to have a positive value for me.

  Actually I think it says a lot about greendawn's ability to examine himself (stop thinking about testicles, you guys!) and assess his motivations that he was able to see this "reasoning" he was using. Lots of us would just say "I would NEVER do someting like that!"
