  2009 Drama Synopsis and Comments

  this year's drama was based on the parable of the prodigal son.

  the theme was "your brother was dead and came to life".

  as some have probably heard, it is a modern day story based on that parable, so there are no fancy costumes or fake beards.. .

  Screwed by the org to me means how my life is different because I followed what are the technical rules of the org. Not because I was subjected to a bunch of weirdos.

  I was "screwed over" in that I was a little delayed in having proper friendships with non-JWs, having proper romantic/sexual relationships with people in general, delayed in attending college and (as a result of the college delay) delayed in having a well-paying job. I am 33 years old and am at a point in life where I should have been ~5 years ago.

  Could be worse. I am trying to progress and do not consider myself seriously screwed in any way.

  appeals court decision against watchtower society and their attorneys.

  you'll have to read the following carefully; much of the starting part appears against him but toward the end it appears to balance out more.

  And the pills would be really small (somehow they always make those homeopathic pills small...) cause that would make people think they are better somehow.

  Well, I don't know it is is truely "moral sense" or just a recognition of actions-->consequences, but when I come home from going out shopping or something and my dog stays in the bedroom and has its ears flattened down and head lowered, I know I need to look around the house to find something that she has done... sure enough, there will be a chewed pair of underwear or pillow case or something...

  the usual bashing of motives: those who want great wealth, prestige and seek it in a college educationcollege graduates don't always get jobs in their fieldsdrugs, drinking and sex are "rampant" at collegesthose who want to "snatch us away" are near if we go to college (isa 54)if we seek a college education, we are not spiritual mindedthe most disturbing for me was this:.

  be Ibuprofen?? Ibuprofen is GREAT for hiking, running, all sorts of activities. I use it all the time and it makes me feel MUCH better.

  Hated all those witnesses that were always trying to sell us stuff. Phone plans even.

  We could tell when we were going to get the sales pitch: some super cool "in" sister would call my mom... oh, the reason?? She wants to sell something... My mom always wanted to tell them it was so obvious when they never called for ANY other reason...

  Community college is the way to go, I agree.

  There may be some stigma BUT you get to take the sorta-tough classes like biology, chemistry etc in small intimate settings where you actually LEARN something instead of the 500 - 1000 student lecture halls that are common at universites.

  You can mess around with classes, seeing what you really like (I changed major ~4 times in community college) with out wasting a ton of money. Units were $11 at the community college I went to from 1994 to 2000 (yeah I took a while... but I took 2 years off in there).

  Also- I am now finishing up a PhD, so it doesn't mean that you'll never get anywhere if you start off at community college.
