  "Wow. This is really offensive."

  that is what one of my jw facebook friendss typed as a comment to my "what kingdom hall asshole are you?

  " fb quiz result.. i replied that it is just a joke but i will take it down if it insults my friends!.

  What were you going to (wait to) do in the new system?

  i was reading on jwr a thread that linked to these funny indian music videos that weere "subtitled" in english (very funny if you have seen them...) and the thread author was like, "after armageddon if i get resurrected i'm totally going to direct indian music videos".

  which is all sorta beside the point, but prompted me to think back and try to recall what exactly i planned to do in the new system.

  you know- we all had those things we really wanted to do but were going to "wait until the new system to..." do whatever.. so: are you actually doing those things now, or were they totally unrealistic and fairytale type stuff like "riding a tiger up mt everest and snowboarding down"??

  Interesting... I thought more people would have those crazy island-plans... like, wanting to live in a tree house on Borneo with panthers and stuff.

  I was going to be an astronomer in the new system- learn about aaaalllllll the stars n stuff that Jehovah created for us to study.

  Brocephus- love your name.

  Now I am more interested in human evolution- but that will have to come after I finish schooling I have already started... I really like school...

  But who would therre be to teach ANYTHING in the new system. Unless you wanted to learn about the proper way to clean a window without leaving streaks...

  Northern/Central California meetup ~end of June/Mid July???

  i will be coming out to the sierras/reno/lake tahoe this summer from the end of june through mid july.

  don't know my exact dates yet- depends on the dates for snowmelt in the high sierra.. anyone up for a meet-up then??

  we had such a blast last year .

  Hmm- July 31-Aug 2 or Aug 7-9 sounds good

  I think that the July 4 weekend should be avoided!! It was so hard to get around last time...

  I need to firm things up more here with the fam. I will post again when I have more concrete plans...

  Well, my plans changed!! :(

  I can only come out from June 28th to July 9th OR from July 29th to August 15th. Family scheduling... two people with too much going on...

  dear friends,.

  sunday i recieved a phone call from my mother who said i had to go get the paper and read the article regarding a local kingdom hall that has been on the market forever.

  who ever wrote this must know enough about the witnesses and the judicial meetings in the famous back room or "crying room" the article refers it to!.

  I think "crying rooms" maybe are common in churches- where mothers go when their kids start squalling??

  Am I being too sensitive?

  ok, this morning i was getting ready to take my 8yo to school, he normally walks with his older brother but his feet have been hurting him lately so he asked if i could drive him then he asks me if two neighbor girls can ride with us.

  i said yes and after a few minutes i asked my son why they needed a ride.

  he said because they didn't feel like walking.

  Well, 8 year olds might be a little shy. But to not respond to a "good morning"??? A smile or a quiet "hi" would be acceptable and possible even for a shy girl. But no response? Someone is not raising them right.

  Yes they were RUDE- sometimes my friends acted this way towards my parents (when I was young) and my parents would NEVER let them get away with it. They would force them to answer, pointedly engage them in a conversation until they responded.

  One time a boy picked my sister up (for a date) and just honked the horn for her instead of coming down to the house. My dad marched up to the car and, smiling, said, "well, I'm sorry that I got up here before you were able to make it down to the house, but I know that next time that won't happen." Smile.

  The kids that were rude (non-responsive) to my parents really annoyed ME as a kid. Even though I was, like, "Moooooom!, Daaaaaddd, you are so embarrassing!", I was secretly glad that my parents put them on the spot.

  BTW, my "worldly" friends always were polite, conversational, and had a lot to say to my parents. It was the JW friends that were the duds.

  Mrs Jones-- you totally should have given those girls the business. Let them know they are accepting a kindness from an adult and they better damn well be grateful and polite.
