well christimas will soon be here !!.

gadget did a great job of organising the forum gift exchange the last couple of years so i thought i would give him a break and volunteer to organise it this year.. for those that are new basically what it involves is that those who want to join in will post to this thread and then pm me their name and address.

Wow, I just read the 1991 original WT article on abuse- it is so well written! It doesn't even sound like a WTBTS article -none of those dub-catchphrases, sanctimonious speech etc. Who wrote it? I bet they caught hell for it...

I think that is the only informative well written article I've read from the WTS...

Thanks for the explanation. Bummer that a factual article like that was taken down... Perhaps Trev could put another article up that says much of the same and MORE: now that the WT knows that the site won't buckle and remove ALL of Trev's stuff, they really can't do too much about it. You know, there's no libel, everything is factual, no copyright infringement etc.

Maybe even get a statement from Barbara Anderson (that's who found out about the database, right?) about the pedophile database...?

What was the story with your site? I assume that you posted the societies own WT article on child abuse and they wanted it taked down and claimed copyright infringement to get it taken down?

Weird that they sue you and "quotes" to get articles taken off the internet that they are so obsessively hawking on the streets everyday... Do they want people to get the "message" or not...?

I was ALWAYS getting counseled on "dress and grooming".

A sister even made a comment at her hall (that I did not attend) about one of my casual outfits that I wore after school one day! I think she might not have thought that I would randomly be at that meeting that Sunday.

-Or maybe she DID see me and did it on purpose...

Another time I was conseled about my bra straps being visible and how that "makes it hard for the young brothers"

-I'll bet it made it f**kin' hard for them ;)

Nowadays I just know that for those creepy old men to even be noticing all those myriad of things about my clothing is just waaaay sick. Fer christ's sake I was just a teenager! They SO need to keep their eyes to themselves...

JWs worried about the tract campaign?

this is what a jw poster said the other day about the new tract campaign:.

i was wondering when reading the new tract (kn37) after last nights meeting how this will go down on the doors.

Ha! Yeah, if God doesn't fufill your prophecies, print up an "inflammatory" tract to try to get people pissed atcha.

Whatever, while that tract is annoying and bigoted and will likely make anyone who even reads it decide never to be a JW, it sure ain't going to do anymore than that.

Persecution, my ass. One or two dubs will get yelled at at the door and then will hype the story up into JW urban lore...

Even their "attacks" on "false religion" are pretty weak. And the part about ho-ho-ho-mo-sex-uals in the ministry is annoying but brief enough for people not to even notice it...

Big yawner.

Question: Demons

growing up, i remember hearing stories from my own parents and others in the congregation about experiences with demons.

sister x wore a t-shirt that she purchased at a second hand store and the demons attached themselves to the shirt and gave her problems.

certain movies and/or cds would give a family problems.

"thrown to the rosebushes" = slipped on the steps.

"demons tormenting your husbands house" -you said he was recovering from drugs... THOSE FOLKS see things that AREN'T THERE. (NO OFFENSE) The drugs were the reason he THOUGHT he saw demons, not the reason that demons were actually there.

"molested by demons" -did this happen at night? before or as they were waking up? then it was sleep paralysis, look that up. Were they regularly missing out on REM periods of sleep (the part during which you dream)? That will cause waking hallucinations.

"what's my opinion on the demons?" heh, I guess you could guess... ;)

the watchtower org does not believe that 'justice and equality' should be pursued nowadays.

justice and equality or only to be expected in a never neverland that will never come.. november 1st watchtower on page 14, shows how the borg uses ecclesiastes to teach it's slaves to accept oppression, poverty and injustice.. page 14 it discusses ecclesiastes 1:15 and explains it under:.

OK then why are they involved with that organization CENSUR (sp?) that was just posted on the other day? It's an organization to fight discrimination against small religious groups. WHY DON'T THEY LEAVE IT IN JEHOVAH'S HANDS??? It totally flies in the face of this article. I am disfellowshiping the WTBTS at my own private service meeting TONIGHT.
