Just be careful in purchasing second hand objects. Wouldn't want anyone to bring in a demon infested lite-brite or a possessed teapot cozy.

Were the people I studied with just crack pots?
by caz ini have been thinking about my late mother today, ( it would have been her b'day) and i am feeling a bit upset over the fact that i no longer have a beautiful old wooden table that she gave me before she passed away.
this piece of furniture was one of the first items that she bought when we emmigrated from the uk to aus' and she had bought it 2nd hand.
i loved that table but i got rid of it on the insistance of the 2 women i was studying with as they told me it had demons in it!

I remember my mother going through all of my belongings and throwing things out at will because she thought they were demonized. I lost the entire set of Narnia books that were given to me as a gift from my grandparents, the grim's fairy tale book that was leather bound, again, gift from my grandparents...she would go through my bookbag to make sure that I wasn't being home any satanic things, which meant I left all the books I borrowed from friends in my locker at school. She threw out comic books I borrowed from people at school for an art project. Let me tell you how much fun that was trying to steal the money from my parents to pay the kid back.
And let me tell you about the time she found my "Interview With the Vampire" book. She drug me out back and made me burn it and then lectured me for over an hour about my irresponsibility of bringing such satanized books into the house. How whack is that? :)
So in essence, if it turns rather normal people into paranoid psychotics that believe demons are in everything and clothing talks...well can you really say that this is a normal behavior set to follow?

"A girl in name only"
I'll be 28 in six months and this is nowhere near where I thought I'd be in life.
I would like to have children but am desperately afraid that I won't be able to have any because of physical problems, so instead I put up a front about really liking kids...barbequed.
I work two jobs and have a degree, but still couldn't pay rent on my own, which is why, although just getting married, we have a roommate to help share bills and rent payments.
I have an 02 Ford Focus. It does the job, but it's got no extras.
I spent 13 years in a religious cult.
I only own one T.V. and it only gets three very snowy channels. I read voraciously and have a tendency to obsessively gather information when I find some topic that REALLY interests me.
I have four cats (3 main coons and a lilac point siamese.) I love them as if they were my children.
I'm on medication for depression, anxiety disorder, acid reflux disease. I have very high cholesterol, but i'm very active. Again...I'm only 27. Bodes well for the future, eh? :)
I would call myself an artist, yet I have not done any artwork in years. My job has sucked the creative energy out of me...I've shifted drawing and inking to quilting though. I'm finding creativity in color, shape and pattern instead.
I'm a brown-belt in Karatedo. Sometimes I really love it. Sometimes I can't stand it.
I enjoy drinking, and eating. They are both joys which are made better with close friends around.
If I am ever diagnosed with a terminal illness I'm going to take up drugs. I'm too chicken sh!t to take them now but I figure if I have nothing to lose, that I'll go hardcore.
Secretly, I can't wait for H5N1 virus to mutate and take out half the world's population. We were supposed to have stewardship over the Earth, not dominance and if we can't play nice with our 'friends' then we should be barred from the playground.
I have trouble believing that there could be a god out there. And then when I see duck-billed platypuses I think that if there is one, he was obviously toking on the first batch of mary-jane before creating this place.
I sing to music when I know the words and it doesn't matter where I am.
I'd love to have an immaculate house but I'm just too tired to give a damn.
I wish that Y2K would have taken out the world's infrastructure...don't get me wrong, I'm not into an armegeddon, but I feel like we are slaves to our own technology.
I guess that's it for now.

The Lost Apostle Bob decrees that,
"Why not buy a heckuva lot of stock in Starbucks? After awhile we'll have majority share and then take over the world?"
(do not ask me why I have chosen Starbucks for our ticket to world
domination...er...preaching the good news of the kingdom to ALL the money filled earth as a witness to all, and then the addiction shall come) -

Advertising & Equippment
by LouBelle ini'm thinkin of taking a different direction in my career.
so for those of you that design ads/logos/ and the like what 'course' or programmes do you recomend and what kinda of equippment needed.

I personally like apple better. However, I'm on a pc platform here at my job...macs at least before OS9 (those are the os's i've worked on) were VERY stable. The PC I'm on is a little persnickity but it's a 2000 profession OS so it's a little more stable than the personal operating system.
Just be aware that buying programs for macs are more expensive. That's one of the things that has limited me to purchase a pc for my at home graphic use. It doesn't make me happy, but it is the way it is at the moment.

okay then. :) I'm a graphic designer...i would tell you first to familiarize yourself with both pc and macs, cause you never know what platform you might have to work from. The programs run pretty much identical, but you need to know the operating systems.
I would tell you to really get to know these programs:
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Illustrator
Quark Xpress
Adobe InDesign (a program similar to Xpress...works well with other Adobe Suite programs)
The top three I use on a daily basis at my job doing retail advertising with a Newspaper. This is just pretty much for design and layout. I'm not sure how specialized you want to get as far as design/art...cause there are a tons of graphics programs out there from Corel paint to DreamWeaver for web design, etc.
If you have anymore questions about this, please feel free to pm me and I can try to get any answers you need as far graphic design is concerned.

hmmm...let's see...i went to college, got drunk. a lot. No really. every. single. day. I guess it was self-medication...i also lived in New Orleans at the time so it could have been the culture too. who knows.
went barhopping, clubhopping and went crazy at mardi gras. (For those of you that have never lived around New Orleans as a JW, let me tell you that Mardi Gras is like the soddom and gamorra of holidays - all sorts of debauchery takes place at the parades.) It was a hoot.
Oh...and I got a couple of cats, which as all of you know is the worst sin imaginable...
