Why did they not try to 'Save' me?

i have pondered this question on many occasions.

when i began to have 'doubts' and began to 'question' some doctrine, and particularly the lack of christian love, very little effort was made to 'snatch me out of the fire' as elders are admonished to do.

i have always wondered why we as jw's would spend countless hours trying to start bible studies with 'wordly' people, while at the same time ignoring those who are moving away from dead center of the organization.

Let's see...my father was dfed...and my entire family was shunned. My mother got fed up and DA'ed herself cause she felt that it wasn't a loving organization. I kept going for another year, switching congregations, thinking that I would get the 'love and acceptance' that was gone since my father and mother were quitted in the congregation i had been in for years. HA! The PO hated me for some reason...just out and out dislike...looking back, he probably knew the skinny on the whole thing with my family and figured I would turn out the same way.

There is a point to this, i swear! Basically I saw and was my personal experience that they just don't have the want to bother with people that are slipping...I guess it's a matter of statistics...it's easier to ensnare unsuspecting people versus trying to readjust slipping blinders.

mr c always said he's dump me if i had a tattoo, well we're not together anymore so i can and i am!

richie or those in the know - how much pain can i expect to look forward to?.

I Have Reached the Pinacle

i saw all the hubbub you folks were making over the memorial, and for the first time in my life since leaving the j-dubs, i had no desire to even go.

as recently as last year, i gave thought to going, but usually did not.

this year it came and went and i never gave it a thought.

i've been out for about 4 years and for the first time i've been able to find a place that understands how hard it was for me to get to where i am today after being raised a jw.

i feel like all of you can relate to having to start a new life from scratch after years of living a completely different one.

my question is this...out of how many crashes you might have seen on the news that involved airplanes and water have you seen seat cushions floating in the water? :)

I got my tats once in my late twenties...and my response to the 'be careful' response is this...

I'm gonna look like crap when I'm 80...why not have colored skin while I do it? :)

Word Up Nosferatu...96 was a very good year!

That was the last year I attended the memorial as well...ahhh blessed freedom.

Actually no. The first couple of years out of the truth were the worst of my life. My life was such a mess after getting out of the noose...i had no idea how to live or talk with people...opposite sex interaction was the worst...terrified...absolutely terrified of worldly men for years! anyway...over all of that now...and I wouldn't go back to it and would go through the hell again to make sure i was free of the WTBS. :)

it has cone to my attention via god's holy days -or holidays by the goodnews lot that peeling apples was used by pagans o divine how long someone would live.. in view of the pagan connection,should true christian peel apples?.

i was drinking my bottled water while illegally looking at this site when I should be working, cause we've got a special section due out and i'm up to my eyeballs in advertising...when low and behold I see this subject line...and henceforth spit said water all over my screen and keyboard...it's taken me like 6 minutes to clean up the mess before I could even write this.

goddess, I was thinking of getting a Fleur de lis on my wrist (to remember my hometown New Orleans by). I don't think it would hurt too bad, personally considering where else i've gotten ink done. It would be a good spot for a new tattoo.

Richie, that sounds most fabulous...keep us updated with the progress...I'd love to see it when it's done. It should look really good with the pastels, maybe good enough to eat! :)

I found a shop that I would do it at...and I know the guy who would teach me. He's really good and very easy going and a good teacher as well. (I know everyone at the shop - i should...i've spent countless hours there.) It's working for nil...but if I can work the schedule out right with my job, it won't really matter...i have a lot of evening free time (which is the shop's busy time around here - heavy Military area) and the hubby works nights so it would beat sitting on the couch and I could learn another way to express my art. :)

Hopefully it'll work out...if not...c'est la vie, eh?
