Copyright violation? Uhh... then all used book stores would be in violation. It's a used book... you want money for it... put it on ebay.

"Pay Attention to Yourselves and to all the Flock"
by Cthulhu ini have been following a number of threads here periodically and have decided to join so as to contribute.
i was wondering if any of you would have any idea as to the value of the book mentioned in the title of this thread "pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock," the elusive elders manual.
you see, my grandfather died recently and, unbeknownst to "the others" i managed to obtain said book before anyone else could.

I can't help but feel jealous of these people - I want to go to the dark side.
by easyreader1970 ini am in debt to the tune of about $19,000.
it is all credit card debt.
most of it was incurred years ago when i lost my job and we needed to pay bills and had crazy home repairs.

This all just part of this system (of things? - lol). But no really, taxpayers pay for the irresponsibility of wall street executives, auto executives, and big government. We all obey the law and try to do what's right, while others keep fucking it up. Without the rest of us, they'd never be able to recover so they can do it all again. Just lube all around and put a smile on your face. America! Gotta love it!

Possible GB Visit, Barr None at my KH Dedication?
by sd-7 ini skipped my triple threat meeting last night, but my mom told me that someone from the writing department would be speaking at the dedication of our new (that is, year-old) kingdom hall.
she mentioned someone named barr--i can't verify this, but i know john barr is on the gb.
so is it possible that big brother himself will be at my kingdom hall??

Is the Harvest Inn (Patterson NY) owned by a Witness?
by POs Son ini was looking at reviews on www.tripadvisor.com and saw that the harvest inn near patterson is highly rated (though clearly a lower end mo-tel).
one writer even commented at how nice it is to wake up to kingdom melodies in the morning there.. .
comments lead me to believe that the place is jw owned and primarily caters to visitors of the farms and bus tours of same.. .

The Harvest Inn is at Pine Bush (where Wallkill complex is) and is owned by witnesses. The Patterson Inn is at Patterson, as is run by the Bethel complex.

Can we blame our ancestors for our own shortcomings?
by undercover inin a recent thread about an nfl player being allowed to return to play after being convicted and serving time for a felony, it was suggested that maybe his ancestory played a part in his attitudes and actions.. those of you were playing along at home know the deal.... is it fair to lay blame on one's ancestors in how one acts in today's society?.
i think not.... my ancestor's came here from scotland, when their lands were taken from them back home.
they came here with nothing and had to start over in a land with next to nothing, eeking out an existance in the mountains of tn and nc, always struggling.

In my opinion, you can take out the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John (and maybe James), and throw the rest directly into the trash. If it weren't for the historical/literary value of the Bible, I'd hardly have a use for it in any society I'd want to live in.

At least they're not hypocritical about it!
Sylvia
Hah. Only in the "theocratic" nations. The ones that run a sort of sham-democracy are hypocritical about it.

isaacaustin's claim regarding "the Creator's promise"
by Spike Tassel inisaacaustin: spike, you said jehovah defines false prophets...the reasoning book is man's writing.. i am well aware of the reasoning books weak attempt to deny their being a false prophets....such as 'never did they say these are the words of jehovah".
guess what?
they did say that, in calling their 1914 generation prophecy 'the creator's promise".
