stupid things jws do
by logic ini like this site because you can say what is the truth, the things you would like to stand up in the congregation and say.
for just a few: the last par.
in the watchtower study says "what are we going to study in the next article" and then some moron always raises his hand and answers....... calling everyone by brother this and brother that.

The most stupid thing I did as a jw was to become one in the first place.
The second most stupid thing was to stay one as long as I did, 25 years.

((((((((((Linda))))))))),
So wonderful to hear from you!
Thanks Ian, it's wonderful to be here. I'm having a lovely weekend so far, we are going to some friends for tea soon, but I thought I'd pop in.
I showed Trev your post, and he sends his congratulations, but didn't seem keen when I mentioned him giving swimming a try. It's the only thing he is scared of, as far as I know.

Well done Ian!!
I like swimming, not that I have been that much in the last couple of years. Trev however shares your fear of water - he doesn't even like walking over it on a bridge! The last time he voluntarily went into water, apart from having a bath was at his baptism as a jw.
Maybe there is hope for even him yet...

Today's Text is Scriptural Blasphemy
by gumby inhey gang, this morning as i was making some coffee i saw the "text book" lying there and decided i'd read todays text as i never do, just to see what it had to say.. it was taken from john 15:12 which says..... " this is my commandment, that you love one another just as i have loved you".. anyways, it goes on to say what jesus told his diciples who asked him which was the greatest of all the commandments and jesus answered them that "you must love god with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself".
then it went on to ask if this law was also important to christians today and the comment was.... ( and heres the kicker) "absolutely, the law of christ involves a heartfelt love of god and includes a new command.....christians are to have a self sacrificing love for one another".. so rather than say christians are to love your fellowman, they twist the scripture and say christians are to love other christians.......and we all know by that statement they mean other jehovah's witnesses since they hold no regard for christians of this world.
yes, once again they play mind tricks on the publishers and tell them to love each other...rather than your fellowman and people of this world in general as was the case in the illustration jesus himself gave with the good samaritan.. it's no wonder jehovah's witnesses are despised by many in this world with their self rightous attitudes and beliefs regarding their fellowman that is induced in them by a few old men from brooklyn new york.. i hope your reading this wtbts spies, i really do.

I can confirm that I was a JW from birth to nearly 38 years old! That makes me an expert on the JW brand of lunacy.
Gill, that's worse than a life sentence for murder!
I was in 25 years, joining at the age of 21, so I'm something of an expert as well. I think everyone who has been in for a few years and leaves can see what a crazy organisation they've been part of.
I feel sad for those who are still trapped and haven't seen through the bs yet. I hope they come to their senses, but I guess some of them will allow themselves to continue being duped until the day they die. So sad

Hi everyone, it's great to be back
by fullofdoubtnow inthankyou so much for all the good wishes you have sent us in the last few days, trev has been printing up the emails, pms and threads, and bringing the cards to show me every day, and i get a lift every time i see him coming in with more of your lovely messages to read.. it's been a tough time for both of us, and it won't get any easier.
i am dreading chemo, to be honest, but i have to bear it, as i would anything that gives me hope.
but that's for monday, and i am going to enjoy myself as much as i can this weekend.

We had a lovely evening last night. When we got to our local pub, I was hugged so much it's a wonder I didn't get crushed. A couple who have been long-time friends of Trev have invited us to their home for tea, and before that we are just having a quick lunch then going for an afternoon drive in the country.
It was really great last night to just be able to do things we do fairly regularly - go to our local, pick up a Chinese takeaway on the way home, have a glass of Shiraz with it, and cuddle up together in bed. This morning we took the dog out together, then Trev did the shopping, and now we're off for a drive in the country, which we do now and again when the weather is nice. I know Trev is trying to make this weekend special for me, but he really doesn't need to. He's special anyway, as is every moment spent with him.
I am off in a few minutes to enjoy the afternoon, and I will post later. Thankyou so much for all your kind thoughts and wishes.
love
Linda

Jehovahs witnesses have great love for other jws - as long as they carry on being jws. Their love is totally conditional for each other, and I don't believe that many of them truly love mankind in general either. They share their beliefs because they think there's something in it for them, and the gb tell them they will lose out on paradise if they don't preach. But for that, I doubt many of them would go out in the ministry at all.
Truth_giver
I find it very funny to see ones who are weak minded try to explain issues they don't truly understand
Actually, we do understand about jws and their so called agape love, most of onhere used to be jws. The lack of love in the watchtower org is one of the main reasons why many of us are no longer members of it.

Thanks everyone,
I can't tell you how good it is to be home. And we are going to have a great weekend, starting very soon. We are off to our local pub shortly, probably get a takeaway Chinese meal to eat for supper with a glass of Shiraz, and then an early night.
See you all tomorrow
Love

But that's for monday, and I am going to enjoy myself as much as I can this weekend. I think Trev is more drained than me just now, he looks very tired anyway, so we will have an early night tonight I think.
We are popping out for an hour tonight, then going out for the day tomorrow, we haven't quite decided where yet. In between times, i will post a bit. I have missed you all so much, and it's so great to be back on here, for the first time in a while. I don't know when I'll post again after this weekend, but I shall be thinking of you all, and Trev will keep me up to date with what's happening on the board, so I'll be here in spirit at least.
All my love

"Apostates end up bitter and angry"
by XBEHERE ini actually attended the bookstudy on friday, don't ask me why.
anyway the revelation book is being considered and we're at the paragraph where the congregation in ephesus is comended for "not bearing bad men.." apostates.. .
the comments from the ones attending were so baised and ignorant.

I guess people who leave the org after finding they have been duped may start off angry and maybe bitter as well, but that's to be expected after finding out to what extent they've been fooled.
We don't usually end up that way though, once we get used to the kind of freedom that being away from the org brings. Personally, I'm happier now than I ever was as a jw.
