request from researcher: there was a photo of some cars in the 2003 awake that showed rutherford standing by his cadillac.

This picture would have been taken during the Great Depression wouldn't it?
How disgusting that Rutherford should have a car like that at his disposal, paid for by his followers, many of whom could barely afford to live. I expect he loved driving it around San Diego, where he seemed to spend a lot of his time occupying Beth Sarim, the house he'd supposedly had built for David, Abraham, Isaac etc.

it's been a long time since i posted here but i often read your messages when ian (dansk) logs on.
as most of you will know, ian will be going back into hospital on monday for an allogeneic stem cell transplant and will be away from the forum for a good few weeks (hopefully he'll be back home within 4-6 weeks).
last time he was in hospital many of you sent messages to his ward and i know they cheered him up immensely.

Trev likes Real Ale, it's virtually all he drinks, but I doubt that his consumption amounts to 32 pints per month. He's only ever come home slightly merry once while we've been together, after he'd been on a pub crawl for his best friend's birthday.
hello, yes the scotsman has returned, but i have been naughty .
i have been doing some of my own research on the internet etc regarding jws and some doctrinal issues.. i have had some doubts for a while but am beginning to think that some of our current teachings are simply unsustainable.. example - the 1914 timeframe.. the reason that this is so pivotal is that it is a foundation stone of the organization.
evidence is easily available to prove that this date is unsafe.. many on here speculate about revolution in the organization etc, if 1914 was moved it would have a catastrophic effect on the ordinary publisher and would lead to big change across the congregations.

No, it isn't pleasant at all, very discouraging in fact. I went through it myself a couple of years ago, as have many others on here. All I will say to you is keep on doing your research, whatever you decide to do with it is up to you.

this week jws are continuing on in the revelation book with the angel's trumpet blasts of rev.
chapter 8. this has truly been a blessing as it's helped me catch up on lost sleep.
as a brain-turned-off dub i always got the following impression with regard to the trumpet blasts:.
The description of those trumpet blasts in Revelation indicates that their effect would be noticed throughout the world. I hardly think that a talk by Rutherford in Ohio, or anywhere else, which was only heard by a few thousand people would be noticed by people in China or India, where I doubt that anyone had even heard of the jws in the 1920's.
It's just another example of the arrogance of the org's leadership in applying the fulfillment of bible prophecy to themselves, and one of the more bizarre examples at that.

When he was a regular poster on this forum he took the watchtower party line on everything, as he is doing in this piece of crap, not that I've read much of it.
He's entitled to his opinions, but not to be taken too seriously IMHO.
