  "Don't go there --that's "'higher criticism'"

  "Isn't it amazing how with Jehovah's spirit we can build a Kingdom Hall in 2 days" --"Wait a minute why are they all having mold problems now, didn't Jehovah help us build it?"

  Leaving JWs Has Made Me Intolerant of Stupid Thinking - How About U?

  lori (my girlfriend - a non-jw).

  and i had quite a discussion last night.

  i am almost always a very tolerant, easygoing person, but there is this one aspect of my personality that has caused us a certain amount of tension.

  The trait of an enlightened person is being able to see and hold 2 different (and even seemingly opposing views) at the same time and make the connection to the whole. Digging in and defending a point of view keeps one from seeing the bigger picture.

  Does God care for people in India and China?

  if only witnesses have the truth and only them will be saved, i guess that god doesn't care much for people in india and china (who represent together about half of the world's population).. out of the 2.5 billion people in both countries combined, how many witnesses can there be?.

  a rough guess: 1 witness per 100,000 population

  Understand this--I DON"T BELIEVE THAT S@#T ANYMORE! How is shunning me going to make me believe it?

  Anyway here's a story from a year ago when I was working my way out.

  At the last CO's talk he was droning about humility and used as an example an occasion when Rutherford predicted Armygeddon and got it wrong (apparently). So what amazingly humble thing did the Judge do when all the facts proved he was wrong?? He admitted he was wrong!

  Wow! talk about humility!

  I mentioned to many afterwards that I thought true humility would prevent someone from stepping out ahead and make a prediction that would lead people astray. Everyone I talked to about it defended Rutherford and insisted he was being humble.

  "What else could he have done?Deny it?" I would ask. And--"What if you went making predictions about the big day? What would happen to you?" No answers.......

  The worst part is,is that you had the CO highlighting the fact that false prophecies were made and no one seemed to care!

  PS --I just put up my 1st XMAS tree today,it looks great!!!!!!

  it's been 2 months since i was df'd and 4 months since i've talked to anyone in my family.

  for the most part i'm doing real well but every now and then it catches up with me.

  ran into my dad today and when i tried to say hi he could only ignore me.. i think the pain and hurt i feel now is more for him, he's in his own world of misery and doesn't even know it.. anyway, i'm a little drunk and depressed and just felt like getting it off my chest.. hope this doesn't bring anyone else down.. namaste'

  Well it's now Wed. am and I've slept off the rum and Cokes. With a little help from Capt. Morgan and seeing all of your supportive messages I feel better.

  Thanks so much to everyone who posted. Everyone at JWD becomes more valuable to me all the time.

  So onward and upward--I'm going to live large and joyful today!

  today, i had a phone message from the husband of my former study conductor/friend!!

  he (they) were calling to see how we were doing.

  they were like brother and sister to me.

  Hi Lonelysheep,

  I hope the best for you and them but I wouldn't get to excited yet. I don't want to sound negative but it's VERY difficult to get them to open their eyes. I've been let down with similar hopes before. I thought your letter was excellent, hopefully it made them think!

  Ripping Apart The Faithful & Discreet Slave Doctrine Slashes A Foundation

  in order to get to the core of the wts belief system, one must get to the foundation of all of its teachings.

  that basis is the belief that the fds gives, from jehovah god, all the "spiritual food at the proper time".

  if the "slave" gets all it's light" from jehovah god and jesus christ, the head of the congregation, why are their continued "refinements"?
