  That would be the Pythagoreans who were a very interesting group. Pythagoras forbade eating beans. I guess those meetings in close quarters prompted that very practical taboo!

  Then he was not only irrational, but also a possible racist and an anti-vegan.

  I always preferred Fermat to Pythagoreas. Theorem wise, that is.

  Strange that Pascal became named as a computer language, but Fermat never has...

  during this meeting “food at the proper time” was given and the most important, was given during a symposium of six talks by members of the governing body—brothers jackson, lösch, pierce, herd, lett, and splane— which analyzed and discussed the meaning of jesus’ words recorded at.

  " (matthew 24: 45, 46) it must be conceded, then, that at the end ot the world, at the "time of the end", during the presence of the lord, during the harvest, he would have in the earth a servant who would be faithful and wise.

  If they are still studying this, analyzing this, and re-defining this - then it obviously means that they do not know who the "faithful and discreet slave class" is - or what it even means.

  They have not even figured out that this simple scriptural illustration did not remotely mean to define the hierarchy of the church.

  A 'Million Dollar Question' on Pre-1975 Watchtower

  the watchtower society of jehovah's witnesses predicted the end of the world to come in 1975. as a result, many jehovah' witnesses started withholding from having children, higher education, while others sold their houses and donating money to the watchtower society.

  please, correct me.

  now, a million dollar question is, what was the watchtower doing itself in anticipation of the end of the world in 1975?.

  If I recall correctly, they were arranging the purchase of a super-printing press that would eventually [late 1970s to early 1980s] cause a request to be made throughout the congregations for:

  "Bethel has just purchased a computer-operated printing press, and they need computer programmers to assist in setting it up and programming it, and these must be COLLEGE-EDUCATED computer programmers..."

  Needless to say, that was the impetus I needed to exit that damned cult - what HYPOCRISY!!!

  That was actually the big transition to computer photo typesetting and offset printing rather than the Linotype and Letterpress formerly used.

  It was an enormous financial investment - and obviously not in line with any realistic belief that the end would come in the mid 70s.

  worship is man's natural reaction to an encounter with the living god.

  for humans unacquainted with anything but a book or a prayer or a seat in an arena where "god" is spoken it is a 2nd level intellectual or emotional experience.

  not reality.. idolatry becomes necessary.. what better way to serve an unknown and unknowable except by erecting a helpful worship aid: image?.

  i'm currently without a cellphone after reading a text message that made me play twist and internally shout with my cell phone.

  been a while since i did something this retarded but it did feel good and natural at the time.

  i went to bestbuy for a new phone and decided i dont want to talk with anyone right now anyway.
