I WAS CAUGHT emailing a pdf copy of the New Elders Book

i sent a .pdf to a few friends and one of them betrayed me and forward it to a elder i know, along with the emails of the recipients.

i cant believe i was so naive to think that i can trust someone..stupid.

i have not talked to the "benedict arnold" yet, but hopefully soon.

For those brave enough to email the new Elders' Manual, I might suggest this tactic. Say something like this:

I saw this on the net. It's not for real is it?

Or:

I've never heard of this. Is this for real?

Then about five minutes later send a follow-up email with a tagline of "Oops":

Good grief! I now realize what this is. Please delete that file. That was a huge mistake on my part. Sorry about that!

Or something similar. Just be sure to be non-comittal in the first email and then quickly apologize and tell them they should delete it right away. Of course, many will spend a few minutes (or longer) reading it before they do, if they do. :)

Google filtering new elders' manual?

the active link from a russian site posted here a few days ago (and since removed) for 2010_ks10-e.pdf no longer shows up on google.

yesterday, i checked and putting the file title in google brought up several torrent hits and the russian active link.

this morning, some of the torrents show but not the russian link.

Just did another check.

There are fewer and fewer links via Google.

The Bethel brothers have been busy.

However, I've noticed that the file can still be found using other searches.

i'm sure the legal, public relations and other depts.

are all asking the gb how to handle this situation.

and i'm convinced the gb is scratching it's head trying to decipher j's spirit direction in all of this.

If the WT does move on this legally (which I'm kind of doubtful they will), it will become BIG NEWS.

Legal action by a religious group is noticed by the press.

yes, that's right, they really do not like people being able to read that book so they wanted links to it removed (it appears they have also been going after the hosts of the content itself as well).. unfortunately, i had to removed the links (which were dead anyway when i checked) and i'd ask that people don't re-post them (sorry).

i'm sure there are lots of alternative ways for those with the information to get it to those who need it.. here are the discussions on the book:.

I understand what the new Elders' book as saying on this relates only to disfellowshipped and disassociated relatives and only to them.

If a JW associates with someone (not a relative) who is disfellowshipped or disassociated a judicial committee is likely to form.

But, not so if a JW associates with a relative who is disfellowshipped as long as there is no "spiritual sharing." However, such "non-spiritual" association with disfellowshipped and disassociated relatives will mean the JW will not be appointed as a elder/ministerial servant or pioneer, etc.

That's how I understand this statement from the new book. Others?

while an earlier version was made available privately the time has come to 'progress'.. conscious class and ex both strongly adhere to not keeping things 'hidden' in regards to wts publications, talks and documents which are circulated in order to maintain it's position.. another wonderful poster (who has yet to give me permission to name) has 'reduced' and 'bookmarked' the first full copy link i was given by our 'winner'.. in this newest and final 'clean' copy link you find two other additions besides the reduction/bookmarking..... the brother who uploaded the entire book wishes all to have a copy that includes both boe ltrs (pre-ks ltr and spiral binding ltr).

also another development has occurred.... the brother responsible for this book being brought into light and put forth for public consumption and discussion has requested i post this letter explaining to 'us' (jwn posters/global audience) and 'them' (wts of penn & ny).. i ask you give attention to his words/ experiences as he is representative of a newly emerging demographic within the conscious class.
