Sorry to be a downer...but I'm just new here. I've been scanning topics and reading people's various stories....And I have to say, a lot of what I'm seeing is just eating me up. I've actually teared up a few times. Does anyone else find it almost difficult to read some of these things?

Uh...hi...
by klinton ini was looking around the internet, trying to locate an image of god's chariot to show someone, and i found this little place here.
it's...interesting.
as far as i can tell from poking around there seems to be a mix of the faithful, the inactive, and the disfellowshiped (like myself).

Haunted Hall
by Virgogirl inwas it just me, or did anyone else experience unsettling, wierd vibes inside a kingdom hall?
it used to creep me out, it felt almost eerie and spooky inside.
sometimes we opened the doors on saturday afternoon to clean, and it was all dark and sinister inside when we entered, and it almost felt like something was in there, not good vibes, either.

Honestly...the creepiest thing I can recall about the Halls was the complete lack of taste that went into the interior design. They were always lost in the 60's...with no hope of ever looking respectable. Did the society have a bulk discount on green, brown and orange carpeting and curtains? And those chairs...were they trying to give everyone back problems?

How I coped? Hmmmm....that's still a work in progress I think. Heavy drinking and partying were my first attempts. That led to making a bunch of friends who filled the gap rather well, I think. But there's always going to be a little hole where your family should be. It's not natural to be completely alone, you know...as if you hatched from an egg or something. My poor boyfriend still has to deal with heavy shit that he really shouldn't have to. I still find it odd to see his family around all the time, and I have only him.

JW's on trick or treat night
by carla inhow did your jw families appreciate people knocking on your doors on trick or treat night?
ever answer the door and tell them how pagan they were?
we had one jw house that used to be totally dark except for the porch light so we could read their sign- we are jw's and do not celebrate halloween.

It's odd to see a melange like this (can't those of you still practicing face comitee meetings over stuff like this? I know I had several over reading comic books...). Anyhow. Just saying hi. I'll be around for a bit. Huh...it's been ages since I've given any of this much though (I've been out for about ten years now....and the change was dramatic, cutting off all ties to my immediate and extended family, save my sister who's gone back now though).

I so want to say something to make you feel better...but I can't think of what. I know where you're coming from...there are so many people I've missed over the years. I can say that I'm sure those kids remeber you. I remember sisters like yourself (are we allowed to name people in here?) from when I was young (and I'm 27 now), so I'm sure you still hold a special place in thier hearts too.
