  i watched a documentary the other day entitled, devil's playground.

  it centered around a few amish youths when they reached the age of 16. once all amish youths reach this age of maturity, according to their church doctrine, they are let loose for an indefinite period of time to experience the world.

  this time period, called rumspringa, can last from just a few months to several years.

  Yes, that was an extremely excellent documentary. Even my husband (who has never belonged to any kind of church and does not care for relifgion in any way, shape or form) found it compelling enough to watch. I think alot more churches would find their youth more likely to stay if they were given a chance to "sow their wild oats" so to speak and find out if the lifestyle is for them or not

  Congrats to you and ALL those who are serving our country and those who have passed away. PEOPLE magazine had a beautiful tribute to those who have dies in Iraq. I looked at it with tears streaming down my face and I said a prayer of thanks for all of you who are so damn brave. THANK YOU

  Ozzie's Weekend Poll #77

  how's the weekend been treating you?

  here on the eastern seaboard of oz we've had some really hot weather - at least the suddenness of the hot spell made it seem all the hotter!.

  another thing we saw this week was the rural roads around bethel chocked once again with tourist coaches full of bethel visitors who were taking advantage of the "privilege" of visiting the australia branch after the international convention was over.

  i love r&b, soul, neo-soul, and "classic" disco.

  certain groups and performers i've seen and enjoyed were earth, wind & fire, marvin gaye, anita baker, the temptations,luther vandross, janet jackson, and literally hundreds more.

  i don't care for country/western, punk rock or heavy metal..........what do you like/don't like?

  some months ago i heard that hillary will be drafted as president at the democratic convention.

  well, this is no longer a rumor.

  on the hannity & colmes show last night, foxnews, this 'rumor' was confirmed to be true.. the reason for the public silence (not told on the show) but by the rumor mill, is to keep hillary on a low profile, not to create a public stir.

  If Hillary won the Presidential election I would have to seriously consider moving to another country as ours would no longer be a preferable place to live. Hmmm, someone made a comment that the Clinton's were for the common folk. Well along with all the other responses that were negative to that comment I add this...when the Clinton's moved out of the White House they trashed/stole many things from there and Air Force One. Who has to pay to replace those items??? The COMMON FOLK! I vote for whoever I think will do the best job but there is NO WAY I would vote for another member of the Clinton family. (I am ashamed to admit I voted for Bill the first time he ran)
