shaking hands with death: the one common bond we all share, even jehovahs witnesses, is death ... it lurks in the back of the head ... and most people dont think about it more than they are forced to when a loved one dies.
on monday, 5/28 i was forced against my will to meet mr. death, and have my first chat with him.. i would have expected to have profound and serious thoughts combined with the wise and sage advice of standing at the threshold of deaths door.
what i found was something most unexpected ... something that altered my views of life and death, yet once again.. the heart attack: it was a pleasant noontime.

Well, it looks to me you recieved the MERCY of Jehovah, considering the other way this could have gone.

i just spoke on the phone to amazing (jim whitney) who is in intensive care in a chicago hospital.
on monday he had a major heart attack, had a stint put in an artery to unblock things and may have bypass surgery.
he's comfortable enough right now, but of course will have to make some big lifestyle changes.

A few pokes and prods and some stitches and recovery time seems to be on your calender for awhile.
You will do just fine! Alen's post realy made me feel sick but then glad cause it wase'nt any worse than it was. I've always respected and admired your thoughts that you post on this board so I'm sure you would understand it is with deep sincerity that I/we say please "GET WELL SOON "

i've posted a similiar subject before , but read yesturday that scientologists in france were sued for fraudulent preaching methods by the government (the article did not state what the fraud was) and fined.
the scientologist complained and said they were just practising their religion.. i love those french, they see straight through dodgy religions.. so should we try and sue the society , for say withholding vital information to new members about their past and other such things, and not being open and honest about what happens when you leave.?.
prehaps the french can try it first.
I think they should be sued for misrepresenting the status of baptismal candidates who just took the plunge.
They are NOT told that any and every thought and action not in agreement with the watchtower society can be punishable by disfellowshipping and then shunning, ( possible loss of family, friends, job, nice future, etc., )
Their flagrant missrepresentation of the conditions within the org could be viewed, ( by a jury,hopfully ), as willful deception. There is NO freedom of thought without punishment. There is no understanding the Bible without the Orwellian wretchtower telling you what to think. You WILL sacrifice your life and the lives of your family upon the direction of ANY doctrine we come up with. Disobey ANY of our directives and you will die a HORRIBLE death with the eyes of you and your children pecked out and rotting in their sockets at armageddon.

this morning i told my wife about my decision to step down as a ms and that i also would'nt be attending any meetings.
she made a few comments that i expected her to make, but strangely enough she was for the most part very silent.
she made it clear that she was against the decision but outside of a few other comments she said very little.

But you HAVE to know 'concerned' brothers will be showing up on your doorstep within a week or two to 'disscuss' what the problem is. After that a 'family' sheparding call will be scheduled, your call, ofcourse.
This may or may not concern you, but, if it does, try to consider your spiritual need. I read the Bible everyday but that may not be enough for the long term. However, one day at a time is all we can live, and not making ourselves slaves to the Borg is BY FAR the first step in the right direction! You go guy!
