Difficult to build faith up at church after leaving WTS

how many of you who decided to remain christian and started to go to church had a hard time building your faith back up again after leaving the wts?

i'm having a hard time.

it's been 4 months since i began attending the penticostal assembly of god church in my town, and i love it.

The purpose of evengelism...is to present the bad news and the good news.The bad news is that a person broken God's law in deed, word and thought, and that there will be a day in which that person will stand before God to answer for his/her sin...The good news, is that Jesus' death paid for every sinful deed, word & thought committed by the person, and lived the perfect life God demands from that person...This is the message that the Apostles preached, but is not preached by the JWs. - XJW

You went from the difference in application to the difference in content. I never once disputed that your evangelical message is different.

I only ask that you try to be fair with your claim that Pentecostals care about their target audience more than JWs ever do. Surely that is an exaggeration.

Yes, there is a "saved vs. unsaved" mentality, however the biggest difference between the Dubs and where I am at now is this: I truly care about the people I talk to, and do not view them as a magazine placement, return visit or Bible study. Instead the person is a person, and not a number.

Perhaps this is true for you back when you were a JW. But surely there are JWs who truly care about the people they preach to. Not all JWs are heartless, scheming, sales people. So then how does pentecostal evangelism differ from JW evangelism?

To be fair, it has to be said that JWs should have the right to commemorate the Last Supper as they see fit. If the majority should choose not to partake of the meal according to their understanding of the Bible, it is their right to do so. But you can hardly expect those beliefs/practices to go unnoticed and unchallenged by a forum of disillusioned ex-JWs, underground reformers and nominal members. The singularity of their beliefs which they claim is Christian Truth also makes Mainstream Christians question the validity of their Communion practices.

Of course, some mainstream Christians have tact. Others are just filled with their God-inspired ~~venomhypocrisy self~~ righteousness when they challenge the Witness practices. I guess we have all been wounded in varying degrees by Jehovah's Witnesses.

So who do I see to get a lease on his soul? Would be nice to rake him over the coals, stick a pitch fork in him, force him to commit horrible acts of bestiality with a porcupine.

Gutless coward sat at the top of the hierarchy and did nothing good for those below. Stuffed himself with free meals and had eager volunteers to wipe his ass. I'd etch that on his gravestone.

Also, the Memorial is downright dull. One can hardly call it a "celebration" (without snickering) for there isn't any happy dancing or joyful singing (other than the sleep-inducing tunes of 2 "Kingdom Melodies"). And there aren't any edible food or drink (unless you're "anointed" in which case you get ONE sip of wine and ONE bite of bread that tastes like cardboard. Oh hoorah!).

The Memorial is also NOT a "holiday". In fact, come to think of it, you might call a Friday DC a JW holiday cos you're expected to take the day off your secular job to attend it. There is no such requirement/expectation by the superfine FDS/GB that you take the day off for the Memorial to "reflect" on spiritual things.

Silly Things You Can Do For Which Jehovah Will Kill You...

i was thinking about all the various people who the bible says have been killed by jehovah or his angels for various acts of disobedience.

here are a few of the ones i thought of....feel free to add your own eating a piece of fruit (slow death, 930 years) picking up some sticks on the sabbath preventing the ark of the covenant from falling when the guy carrying it stumbles living in a city where your family has lived for generations, in a region where jehovah has "given" the land to his "chosen" people dancing for your victorious warrior father, not knowing he has vowed to offer the first one out of the house as a burnt offering.

Good reason? Such as? Which of the above were reasons manufactured by the Society and not explicitly written in the Bible?

So God snuffed out lives to prove a point? That is the God you wouldn't criticize?
