He'd like you to think that wouldn't he? I think we humans just have the annoying habit of building houses near God's violent play-things. It's still OUR fault though. Not God's. He cannot and WILL not stop the display of His raw macho power for our pathetic sakes.
Now bow down and thank Him for kicking our sorry asses!!

is this true?.

For those who take issue with (let's not even discuss those who actually HATE) the co-existence of God and suffering would not find the article convincing. The article does not even set out to convince you RATIONALLY.
You will not complain because you have "true hope and encouragement in the *reality* of God".
You will not complain because you are "declared righteous" and are "at peace with God".
It's all about emotions and perception-swaying.

when i was a pioneer i used to get the comment a lot, as i am sure most here have.. my stock answer was the analogy.... wt 2002 10/1 page 7 as an example.
imagine a father allowing his child to go thru a painful operation in-order to get better...hence why god permits suffering.
anyway i used to trot this out without any counter arguments.. even when i left, it still seemed a reasonable explanations, then something clicked.

I personally have never used this argument as a JW. I stuck to the landlord/tenant analogy whenever this topic came up. But it is always refreshing to see someone debunk the false logic of the WTS.

harold camping is the president of family radio and recently on his open forum program he denied that hell is a place.
he also has set dates for the return of christ the first was in 1994 and now he says it will be 2011. he also states that the end of the church age has come, but he has weekly meetings that are not church.

I am predicting ed the year 2011 AD with my own calculating methods. Harold Camping is very distinctive in his preaching - the most challenging preacher on the radio to count with. I am a very frequent listener to of his Open Forum programs .Note he is considered by me as my opponent. Isn't "Note: I consider him my opponent" so much simpler?
He was predicting ed the year 1994 AD as I did too.You can listen to his programs but that doesn't mean you have to agree with everything he teaches.It is your own decision. Define "It".

is it permissible for jws to visit the graves of their loved ones if they merely want a moment's reflection on the departed?.
is it permissible for jws to do this on the anniversary of the death?.

Yes, Gopher. Maybe it is that. Maybe it's one of those things for which a JW has been conditioned to feel guilty without being told. "Why would I go visit Nana's gravesite when that time could be better spent telling people about the ressurrection hope or being consoled by a spiritually mature elder." That kind of twisted reasoning.
I was hoping to hear from some members Down Under to compare notes actually. Do their congregations look at this practice as a no-no, I wonder?
