i'm fed up of winter, and dirty yucky snow, and my car is full of sh*t salt.. so, today i washed it by hand.

for those of you who read my continuing series about a girl i dated, i mentioned at the end of it that i'm gonna be a daddy!

i'm so excited!.

the wife is on week 8.. i'm trying to figure out how my parents, especially my father is going to take the news when i finally tell them.

What are JW's taught about friendships with worldlies?

i'm new to posting here, but i've been lurking for awhile trying to find out more about the jw life, as i have a dear friend who is a jw, but there are many things i don't understand about him, and how he treats our friendship.

i came right out and asked him once if it was true that he was not allowed to be friends with people outside of his religion, and he said "no, but we are encouraged to spend our time with "like-minded" people and that he had other friends besides me who weren't jw.

we met at work and seemed to be very close, but i've always felt some aloofness.

Okay well when I was a witness and I was around 15 my parents called the elders on me because I had worldy boyfriends and my best friend was a "wordly" girl, they read me scriptures ( don't know which because I didn't even listen at the time) and basically sat there waiting for me to say I wouldn't hang out with them anymore...hahaha boy were they wrong, but they knew I didn't stop hanging out with them and I kept my boyfriend but I was not DF'ed so it's more kind of frowned upon (which in their little world means DON"T do it, but we can't DF you if you do)

Do You Ever Have Dreams About Being A JW?

i had one disconcerting dream last night.

i was in a very large assembly hall and explosions started occuring and rather than wanting to leave everyone stayed and chatted like whatever was happening out there was not going to affect them inside.

they were all very smug.

yup, they are really nightmares, I have had dreams where I am in the KH with my parents and I want to leave but I'm not allowed because we were stupid and went back to one meeting,,, I hate those dreams I feel so trapped

A dream I had last night

i had a dream last night or should i say early this morning....i can remember every detail which is unsual.

i think it was about the end times or armagedden....i was living in a little apartment in washingdon dc with a man in his 40s and boy about 12 years old...i didn't know either one of them but we all shared the same apartment.

from the potomac river came a rotten smell.

I had a weird dream last night that I remembered every detail to as well, I was driving with my dad and he didn't turn quick enough and we went off the road that was a steep hill, I grabbed his hand and said I love you and waited to die, I was so scared when I woke up

brief overview... black college professor / lawyer, recently came in the truth... yadda yadda.. well, i worked with him out in service, and we were talking about mormanism, and he said that he knew mormanism was wrong because they once taught that black folks couldnt go to heaven, but then they magically changed and said they could.

so then i asked him how he felt about the society's old stance on black people.

i was out last night with my friend that i went to church with a couple weeks ago (he's presbyterian) and i asked him if he had been to church lately and he told me that him and his family went to the main church in town instead of his little one in the country.

then he told me that his aunt and cousins got up and left the service because it was a woman minister??

so i asked if they were allowed to have women ministers and he said no that it is against the bible ..."the bible clearly says that women are not to have authority in chuch/congregations..." .

thanks Blondie, I'm interested in the bible answer, as for minister I guess what I mean is the same as priest or elder or pastor, allowed to preach from the podium, I don't understand that if their religion teaches that women should not be ministers why they would have one?

well I do not remember learning this ( although that doesn't mean much lol) so I said "prove it..where does it say that in the bible?" but he didn't know so that's why I am asking you fellows, he uses the King James version (he told me the reason I never read it was because I had a different bible) so if anyone knows where it says this or if he's just full of bullsh** I would love to know
