  Why does the WTBTS survive?

  back in late 1973 when i got my fatal doubts about the wtbts, i was sure that the society would crumble soon after 1975 when yet another prediction failed.

  i was not alone with this thought; a british author by the name of stevenson (an exjw that had written an expose) allocated an entire chapter in his book about the likelihood that there would be a very major falling away in 1976 or soon thereafter.. but it didn't happen.

  yes, there were several years of consecutive worldwide declines.

  I'm a new study, unsure a little uncertain. Help??

  i recently started doing some studying of jehovahs witnesses, and i find most everything so logical, and the people involved have been so nice to me.

  i'm 30, and currently am not associated with any denomination.. what i don't understand is how the word "cross" got translated into the bible if it's not right.

  aren't we supposed to believe the bible?.

  If today someone had a birthday celebration and a murder occured,it would be on the front page of the newspapers tommorow,on the other hand if someone had the usual peaceful happy uneventful event its sure the papers would not mention it.
  You see,just because bad things happened on 2 birthdays mentioned in the bible,does not mean that thousands of other birthdays were not celebrated quite peacefuly?You see it made the news because of the eventful happenings,if you read in tommorows paper of someone getting murdured at a wedding feude it would be circular reasoning to assume that made all weddings bad.

  I getting bored with this Board

  i'm just wondering if it is because i have changed and have gained my freedom from the watchtower enslavement or i just don't care anymore or is it that i have been exposed to too much of the same old complaints about the borg and all the false prophecies and the lies?.

  i must admit i still get pleasure from reports of the watchtower walls starting to crumble al over the civilized world so i guess i'll continue to pop in from time to time.. as far as trying to de-program and rescue the poor unfortunate brainnumbed watchtower slaves, i think it's a total waste of time after all how do get through to people who prefer to believe in the lies when they know they are lies but they just don't want to see the real truth about the "truth(tm)".

  i gues they don't want to see the real truth because it would force them to start thinking for them selves again and for some people that is just too much of a burden to bear.

  Time is such a precious thing and I also try to be ballanced and keep up with hobbies and other interests,and dont want the Watchtower to be an obsesion now I have left

  Whats the saying,Where good men keep silent evil prospers,
  The Watchtower would love us to shut up and fade away,I think there are some JWs happy to worship the Watchtower right or wrong,and happy in their self rightousness,but many more who are genuinly decieved and prisoners.
  I am so glad that 2 people who never were JWs had taken the trouble to help me and learnt about the WT to help people like me,I am so glad Ray Franz took the time to write In Search of Christian Freedom,an excellent deprograming tool for me,the list is endless.

  What bare faced lies and half truth to cover to the true situation.
  It fails to mention the true situation when people just leave ,dissagree or are unhappy,and makes it look like people are only booted out for low morals,not only do they ruin our family ties ,they havent got the guts to admit it,as we have come to expect,cowards,this is a filthy cult which stoops so very low,calling it THE truth, is completely flippant.
