Chronic Fatigue Syndrone, M E, Yuppie Flu.
I dont know if anyone else has noticed the alarming number of JWs who claim to suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrone,I mean hear in Cornwall there tend to be several sufferers in every congregation,outside the JWS out of the many people I know I dont know anyone,although there are obviosly many outside the JWs who suffer this illness,percentage wise it seems that JWs have a much,much larger occorance of the illness.
For example my brother in law has not worked and been living on invalidity benefits for more than 10 years since his mid twenties,his brother is also in the same boat, an M.E sufferer.
I wonder if anyone has looked into this a bit more?

You see Jehovah's people need to make adjustments and refinements in understanding from time to time,the question is are we humbly recieving that new light and are we moving foward with the organization and its light? How does the organization recieve this wonderful light?
......and the new light of the Watchtower is like a man starting out on a journey at the break of day high on magic mushrooms or LSD,and the bright shinning pretty lights get more and more delusional and convenient until the art of deception becomes fully established and no one knows the damned hell where they are really or what time it is......... -

how did knowledge at such a young age affect you with the detailed graphic descriptions given my the published litureture?
were there any publications which freaked you in any way?

My mother had a nervous breakdown because she heard in the talks and literature that if you have doubts the demons are getting to you and also that she could get the demons for talking to someone who was disfellowshiped.

Why is it stressful to be a Witness?

the source of stress you have in mind doesn't have to be gigantic.

Faithful and Discreet Servant
by erik ini came across a scripture in isaiah 43:10-12 recently and noticed it mentioned the israelites as both witnesses and also called them a servant.
does the governing body then have reason to make reference to themselves as a servant, since the israelites as a group were mentioned as a servant.. i would appreciate your thoughts on this.

It is Jesus who decides who decides who a faithful and discreet slave is and grants a 'Well done'on Judgement day which even the JWs now believe is in the future and has not been happening since 1914 as they believed until recently.
That being the case it would only be a PRESUMPTOUSE and egotistical slave that would pre empt Christ himself and declare themselves as faithful and discreet and print their self declaration in millions of books and magazines before then. -

How are Governing Body members chosen?
by crownboy insince it wouldn't make sense for the society to choose "orginal" (i.e.
pre-1935) annointed ones for the gb because they're so old now, how do they choose the new ones?
couldn't a "newer" annointed simply declare himself to be one just so he could get on the body?

The idea is that the only time individuals can genuinely be of the annointed since 1935 is if someone else of the annointed goes unfaihful to take their place in the dwindling number of positions left.
Mathematically you would expect a steady decline as annointed finish their earthly lives,but never,ever an increase because the numbers were deemed to be sealed in 1935 and no one could take a new position since new positions havent existed since then,only the position of someone unfaithful,but paradoxally the numbers in the yearbook have been known to actually go up,according to their own theory this should be impossible.
Because of this when I was a Witness if someone started taking the emblems and claiming to be of the annointed they would generally be viewed as a bit sus,and gossip would abound,now it seems the pre 1935 brigade are more and more prevalant on the governing body. -

What kind of angel was Satan?
by Leander inthe bible mentions several different types of angels.
seraphim, cherubs and the archangel who is referred to as jesus.. my question is what type of angel was satan?
i could be wrong but it seems that satan may have been a bit more powerful than many of the other angels.

It seems to be that the devils best friend is belief in the existence of him.
Humans have justified all sorts of evil treatment of their fellows by claiming that Satan is abounding in that person.
The WT Society scare their members by the belief that ex wits will mislead them because they speak satans deception,and this fear can shut peoples mind with deep prejudice,once you declare anyone of being alied with Satan they have no chance of a fair hearing,it also contributes to a black and white view of the world of those in the light and those mislead by the devil at opposing ends.
I am starting to believe that belief in the devil is a very negative force. -

by Eyebrow inone thing that always annoyed the heck out of me was so called famous witnesses.
it really annoyed me that they could have a public life so contrary to the witness life we were supposed to be leading as witnesses.
i got a kick out of an article michael jackson has about his experience as a witness youth and the sabbath and "pioneering".

A JW who was in the Bodmin Cornwall congregation called Mark Race who went to work at London bethel,said he went out preaching with Micheal Jackson in London on a couple of occasions,on several of Jacksons private visits to the UK,you would think he had met a saint the way he spoke about it.

Question re the UN
by uncle_onion insince leaving the jws, i have tried to evaluate all sides of an arguement before coming to a decision on something.. something has been bothering me: according to the uk bethel, the wts applied for ngo status and then the joining rules were put up after they had joined?
could this be true?
what about the claim that they only joined to recieve a library card?.

I remember reading somewhere on the net that the qualifications were exactly the same when they joined and that this is just a jw escape tactic.
