Why Do Jehovah's Witnesses View Disfellowshipping The Same As The Jews?
by minimus injw's are so fond of quoting the scripture about treating a sinner "just as a man of the nations and as a tax collector".
since this was clearly an unloving jewish practice, why does the society feel obliged to use this jewish practice in disfellowshipping??

Diminished Morality as Proof???
by confuzcious intoday a couple of elders came by and told me that "diminished morality" is proof that those who leave the truth have lost jehovah's favor.
that is, when they were in the truth, they were all chaste, etc.
but now that they are out of the truth that they don't hold the same high standards of morality.

That would make umpteen other religious groups who use exactly the same arguement when members leave,'The Truth.'
There are religios groups like the Plymouth Bretheren for more strict than even the witnesses on morals, does that make them superior?
Anyway I used to find the sins among the witnesses tend to be either secret or brushed under the carpet whereas outside things are more open.
Witnesses only produce an illusion and a poor one at that.
Also as other posters have demonsrated they are guilty of
straining out the knat but gulping down the camel in that some of the so
called sins that people get interrogated for at judicial hearings are
far less serious than the sins produce by watchtower policy which
have produced needless deaths, broken homes, lies and cover ups ;etc.

DOOMSDAY religion, is not just in ONE
by whyhideit inrecently i woke in the early morning hours to a knock on the door and my first thought was, "jehovah's witnesses going door-to-door.
" so i got myself together and went to the door and sure enough there were two people standing there with bibles in hand.
they had a flier and they started to speak, "the end is coming, god is passing judgment upon man soon.

For sure their are many things in this world that give real cause for concern about mans survival, which can be worrying.
Umpteen religions use this uncertainty in the world for thier own ends to drag in recruits, they all claim to have the ultimate guide to getting to some sort of paradise after the big day, they know when their is fear and uncertaity people will desperately seek to catch hold of something, and take the bait much easier.

DNA and Man's origin
by D wiltshire in.
i think as time goes on and dna gets understood better and better it will be imposible for fundamental christians to defend thier position against evolution.
kind of like the catholic church going against galileio saying the "earth is not the center of the universe".. "eventually"(maybe not now) to fight against the evidence makes you look very stupid and under heavy mind control.. don't get me wrong i beleive there is a god, and i think he used "gradualism" to create the universe and life, i even feel the first 2 chapter of genesis are discribing a very long drawn out process that took just as evolutionist are telling us, billions of years till finally man appears.. eventually the wt is going to have to change its understanding of genesis to even stay credible..

I have come to the same conclusion as you,I believe that evolution was the way that creation happened so to speak, but this does not mean I am athiest.
That is how the Church of England officially sees the Genesis account, and has done for some time as far as I know, just as you describe and I remember how I used to mock their viewpoint.

If M.J had something to hide I dont think he would have voluntered to answer all those questions,I think he has genuine motives, tried to answer the questions honestly, apart from questions about the plastic surgery,I think he was a bit cagey about, but thats his personal buisness anyway,we have people in the world we need worry about far more than him.

When you dont go to the meetings any more the gossip will abound, all sorts of theoeries will abound about your proported missadventures and you will be judged in your absense by all those wagging tongues.
Although they may not speak to you to your face their is a good chance that they will talk about you behind your back.

I know for sure in my local congregations that although pioneers generally did do part time jobs,in order to exist they would be entiteled to the maximum earnings related benefits such as 100 per cent housing rent paid by the state in housing benefit,100 per cent council tax allowance, free dental treatment etc, etc, etc,so I would say 99 per cent of pioneering was state susidised.

and what if it all happens according to the plan of the governing body... the united nations decides to wage war on religion ; the witnessess carry on doing what they do best.
then the cry 'peace and security'... but uh-uh ..... here they are .....raising their ugly heads above the dock.... jehovahs witnessess .... now with a message more vigerous than ever .... 'you see !

No.
It does not spook me in the slightest, just a load of stuff to scare the rank and file to stay in the org.but certainly,it would have spooked me in the past.
The watchtower org being so corrupt would get no special protection from a righteous God more than any other religion anyway, they would be one of the first to go,making all those presumptous claims in his name.
