I have far more respect for atheists than I do for all those Bible thumping Jesus freaks. That's why I am an atheist. ATHEISTS ROCK!!!!

A PUZZLING QUESTION...????...????...????
by Terry inthe "sacred secret" of god that creation was yearing to glimpse for so long was jehovah's plan of salvation and righteous government rescue operation.. yet, pagans, heathens and various crackpot primitives all came up with the same plan long before jehovah's was "revealed".
something smells bad about this!!.
i find it puzzling.. child sacrifice to appease wrathful deities is a disgusting solution to crop failure.

The above "stupider" was in reference to the person who posted that God sacrificed HIMSELF. That thought is just as ridiculous as any other stupid bloody doctrine.

Great post, but you lump all pagan religions together. It sounds like you imagine that pagans are savages dancing around a fire and beating drums. This is an uneducated view of pagans. I am a pagan myself, a Wiccan, but I'm also an athiest. the Wiccan tradition does not have doctrines, so belief in God is not required. I live by the Wiccan Rede and that's about it. I believe ritual and ceremony are fun and beneficial thanks to the placebo effect, but I am also strict science and I don't believe in Goppily Gak New Age bullshit. Everything must be proven scientifically or it just doesn't fly with me. so I take exception to your primitive and ignorant view of paganism. It is the true original religion and ALL others are only bastardizations of it.

I just wanted to share a great read with you all. This is the title of Christopher Hitchins latest book. What evr you think about his politics, he is a great arguer? against god and religion. This excellent read is actually more about showing religion up as being evil in its every manifestation, even ones that we might be tempted to label as good or beneficial. He does a better job than the christian apologist who wrote the book, When Religion Becomes Evil. This book, contrary to its title, is not an argument against the existence of God unfortunately. I think Hitchins thinks it is, but he really doesn't address it as well as others I have read. Anyway, it's a great read for anybody with a religious background. Highly recommended.

A "Captive" No Longer
by saywhat29 inokay, i recently read "captives of a concept" by don cameron and i am utterly shocked, yet i feel so i don't know- hell, free!
this guilt of believing in "god's organization" and feeling as if i was losing something that in reality never even existed!
at first i felt so guilty, as if it was my issues that led me to my path of not having faith in the organization and in a sense always believed that i was just immoral and couldn't uphold the standards.
