this reflected a belief, common in the 1970's that commercial nuclear reactors were capable of going up in a mushroom cloud like an atomic bomb.. although no one can deny that accidents and malfunctions at nuclear power plants can potentially be catastrophic, these reactors are not capable of a bomb-like reaction.

Why worry if there is no hell???
by lost&found inanyone ever wonder why ...if there is no hell and we are not going to burn etc etc because god is a loving god......why do we bother because w'all going to die and we are not going to be observing the righteous jw's enjoying through a glass window while we are suffering on the other side......just wondering?

What if there is a hell+1? One time more hellacious? than the hell you imagine exists? Whatever story ypou have for hell, there's always another story that is one time worse, on to infinity, until you have hell infinity for everyone all the time. As great as is your imagination, that's how hell is in your opinion. But that's just your opinion right? So if you are of the mind that hell infinity for everyone all the time is the truth, then we all should adopt your religion because you have the most hideous yarn to spin (stories to tell)?

WTS Idea of "Prophecy" Do You Find This Ridiculous???

the wts view is that we don't understand bible prophecy until after it is fulfilled.
thus their excuse for mis-understanding what was going to happen in 1876, 1914, 1918, 1925, 1975, etc.

It is a well-known fact that when you become an x-JW you must go through JW D-tox academy. I don't know how you got out of going. I'll report the matter to x-JW headquarters. But there at the academy, all new inductees of the xJW comunity must take a special course called "Spelling 101," before you are allowed to graduate. So there is no excuse for poor spelling. Please leave your name with the moderators so the XJWPD can escort you directly to customs where you can get a temporary xJW membership card upon enrollment in Spelling 101. If not I'm afraid we'll have no choice but to persecute you on this board...

I just got off the phone with a brother from the UK branch, in the Service Dept. there and he said that unfortunately this guy is still a member in good standing, although since his conviction they are planning to form a judicial committee and consider the matter that way.

Did you ever play 'WATCHTOWER HOOKY' ?
by AK - Jeff inlong before we 'figured it out', i think we were tiring of the whole routine and demands, though we could not admit such openly, even to each other for the most part.
but i recall occasionally 'oversleeping', and in some cases i had woke early enough but just intentionally let time go by and got up 'running late'.
our family 'tradition' was to stop for breakfast at a local restuarant on the way to the kh.

I would leave at half time and go out to eat, and then come back sometimes after the meeting had ended and act like I was there the whole time. Sometimes I would take someone with me. It was a little tradition between me and my best friends.

It is actually even better known in the UK that this guy has never been disfellowshipped, and is still technically a brother in good standing.

The fact remains that this man was a pedophile in the org. Practicing pedophilia and practicing Witnessing at the same time. How long was he tolerated as a pedophile? Were the authorities notified immediately upon the very first suspicion of child molesting? How long was he able to continue his molesting before he was dealt with? The DFing policy does not lift the burden of guilt from off of the Society for growing and nurturing these pedophiles in their congregations. In fact, their hard line stance on sex outside of marriage contributes to sexual frustration on the part of their members, especially the men. Sexual deviancy, addiction and incest run rampant in this org. We all have examples of this truth if we were a part of the borg for any length of time. In Arab countries people who are not "taken care of" sexually are considered to be a danger to society. This is why arranged marriages are favored in so many countries. They want to make sure everyone is getting some. In the borg, if you are not able to support a wife, you go hungry sexually, and this is when sex becomes compulsive and deviant. Anyway, DFing people does not relieve the WTS from its creating fertile and protected ground for pedophiles. JWs say that they are such good people because of their religion. The WTS loves to take credit for when its people do good, but when they do bad they do not say that they do bad because of the religion. This is a clear double standard, and false. The JW religion happens to turn out the worst kind of individuals, people without their own individual conscience, but with a conscience handed to them by their Mother, the GB. It turns out to be a very "ends justifies the means type of conscience that is not sophisticated enough to help them navigate through murky waters.
