I stopped donating when I was at Bethel. I just couldn't believe that they actually asked bethelites to donate for literature when we had to live on practically nothing to begin with. I just told myself, "I gave at the office." I felt a little guilty but not too much. In other words for the last 10 years I spent in the org, I gave not one dime. I couldn't be more proud of myself for that.

Did You Donate Contributions To The Hall & Society?
by minimus inmy mom told me that the elders spent a lot of time in the service meeting expressing the need for donations.
they showed that area congregations were even remodeling their halls yet they weren't even covering needed expenses in their own hall for utilities!
within the same pep talk evening, they read a letter from the society thanking them for the congregation's $200 donation!

so when he got the chance he would mess with them at the door.
my favorite question he asked 2 sisters when they came.. "if the bible says a wife is to give her husband his due, then do you have relations with your husband because you love him or because the bible says to?".
