when i first came here a while back there was plenty of discussion around and about jw topics and general chit chat but of late i've felt quite a sharp increase in posts that are: .

1/ preaching aethism (as opposed to putting it forward in a respectful way as an alternate viewpoint.

2/ vitriolic attacks on those who dare have another view ('damn those stupid heretical believers') .

Oh I see a post has been made about Faith,yes,great to have faith ,I am so grateful to Ray Franz for writing his book In Search Of Christian Freedom, I know of a lady who was a JW for around 48 years she read one book,this one and left the WT and is now a Christian Believer.Chapter 17 The Challenge Of Christian Freedom.2 Cor: 3:17.RSV Where the Spirit of the Lord is,there is freedom.John 8:31 ,If you continue in my word,you are truly my disciples,and you will know the truth,and the truth will make you free....if the Son of man makes you free,you will be free indeed.

Ray says:Followers of God's Son should be lovers of the freedom He gives,should cherish it,defend it,sacrifice whatever is necessary to retain it.That freedom is more than political freedom.It frees us from the frustration brought by enslavement to decadence,from the sense of guilt before God,from the fear of death and from the fear of man or devil,for it carries with it the hope "to be freed from the shackles of mortality and enter upon the liberty and splendour of the children of God"It is also the freedom to be the person we truly desire to be,strive to be.a person who reflects the life of the One each of us follows,though expressed individually as the unique personalities we are.

Genesis 1:1 'In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth' God's existence is assumed,self-evident.Psalm 14:1 'The fool has said in his heart,There is no God!'They acted corruptly ;they have done abominable works,there is none who does good'

If there is no God,no creator who sets rules,then we are set adrift morally.Judges 21:25 chaos reigned.As nations turn their backs on God ,living as if He does not exist,sin abounds.(just look around you folks).Romans chapter 1 has already been mentioned is very clear and should be taken very seriously.To believe in evolution -that everything made itself by natural processes;that God is not necessary.nah! no sense in that for me at all.There is 'design' and so therefore a 'designer' is necessary.

Hi,

Justin you are so right in that we should respect where people are coming from or they will be driven away.We are on different levels of understanding.Very often many who exit cults make little sense at first,they are ill one way or another.Having to adjust to a different life/ways/thinking/ dealing with so many problems,trying to make sense of your life,very hard for some.

I am a Christian now and very thankful to The Lord for delivering me from bondage.As a Christian we are to fulfill the great commission,so naturally we want to talk about the Bible.God,Jesus.We all make mistakes as baby christians,and also still have 'triggers' and 'flashbacks' and some JW teachings to overcome.

I have family / relations /aquaintances who are a real mix,atheists,occult,RC.so I am used to the arguments..Some JWS still believe in God but are confused,don't know where to go,what to do,still want answers,sadly there are so many who want to strip them of any beliefs and take them down yet another false path.I did not have a computer when I first learned about the JWS.so I walked a long daunting road,and was further mentally abused by some exjws.It got so bad that I had to ring the Samaritans for help as I did not know where to go.I finally found some very loving exJWS who were now B/A Christians and some lovely Christians who were 'sound' .

Freeminds as well as other sites are helping so many,and those who come here for whatever reason will find the much needed help.

Also Reachout Trust,First and Last Ministries.these helped me alot in the UK.

How Did Watching Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" Make You Feel?

although i am not a catholic i found this movie to be the most powerful and uplifting thing i have ever watched.

for those of you who watched it, how did it make you feel?

Mel Gibson made a lot of money out of this film.I saw it and because I was raised RC I recognised some very RC beliefs.Mel had also read about a Nun.I didn't particularly like all the violence,and I am a Christian,yet I do know This film helped many to come to Christ.Amen.

The Da Vinci Code is a re-hash of stories that have been going around for years.Think I first read something similar in The Bloodline of The Holy Grail .

everyone knows you can't enjoy a good pint without a packet of crisps, but that's where the debate lies, what flavour do you choose, sure, ready salted is a good flavour you can't go wrong with, but really your tastebuds require something a little more, well, flavoured.

so what's your favourite crisp flavour?

personally i like tangy cheese dorito's they compliment a pint of fosters so well... .

I was told by a few JWS,that 'even if there is nothing at the end of it all this is where we prefer to be' and...'Where else would you find such loving,clean people to asscociate with?''and.. 2 Elders told me they did not believe everything in the WT either,but just wait for Jehovah to put it right...

Sad to say some love being JWS and love being in the WT Org: have no intentions of leaving .It's sort of like a club..and then there are others who really believe the WT,and others who love control.

The Internet is definately damaging them,also exJWS are getting braver,and speak out more now,not like years ago when they quietly left and were still afraid.The Internet is everywhere available,schools,colleges.libraries,homes etc: the WT are afraid of it.

I have an exJW friend and he said we keep on chipping away until the chips become chunks,

The Lord will deal with the cults,and all abusive religions.

last days?

recently overheard some jw relatives talking, the term we're in the "last days of the last days" was being used frequently, i didn't want to ask them, it would of turned into an argument.

wtf does this imply?

is anyone else hearing this?

Hi,

In a Baptist Church a couple of years ago the Pastor said 'We are in the last of the last days'.There are many who believe this.

I am a Christian and I believe Jesus is coming back.There are many who give dates,and end time prophecies.The Son of man will judge the nations.Mathew 25.Acts 4:12 says there is no other name by which we can be saved.It is not about a place but a person............Jesus Christ.

The WT have misled us all,but the Scriptures are still there for us.Peter gives us a programme of events 1. The ungodly world scoffing.2.God is long suffering.3. Christians exhorted to be mindful of their manner of life.4.The 'day of the Lord' dawns upon the world and the heavens and the earth pass away 5. A New Heaven and New Earth are ushered in.

I still believe the Bible even though I have much to learn/unlearn.

What does Jesus say about THE LAST DAY?John 6:39 John 6:40.John 6:44.John 6:54.John 12:48.

Martha saith unto Him,I know that he will rise again in the ressurection at the LAST DAY.John 1:24.

THE LAST DAYS.This present Gospel Age in which we live is spoken of as THE LAST DAYS.Hebrews 1:2,we read that God.'hath in these LAST DAYS spoken unto us by His Son'

'It shall come to pass in THE LAST DAYS,saith God,I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh Acts 2:17.

2 Tim 3:1 Jas 5:3 2 Peter 3:3.

The Bible tells us that Christ began His reign on the day that He broke the power of death and arose triumphant over the grave Acts 2:25-36 Ephesians 1:20-22 .

'these days are said to be THE LAST DAYS.

The Watchtower cannot save ,only Jesus can.He is the Ark we must be hidden in Him.
