however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.
elders already know.
Must admit i do still get a small chill when i read stuff like this though..damn religion..how long before i can just laugh at this sort of nonsense without first having a bad feeling.
Once I finally realized that it wasnt true, I dont think Ive had one pang of regret that maybe the big A is still coming. I guess just give it time.
The only bad feeling I get is when I hear my parents talk about this nonsense and feel ill because I dont know how to tell them its all bunk.
i have been successful at keeping my true feelings from my wife and others for more than 15 years.
i came to understand a long time ago that this was just the way things had to be.
but for the most part, i live my life the way i want to live it.

it was no accident that the new awake article recently came out with the info that hemoglobin based blood products are now acceptable or a "conscience" matter for jws.
the tort of misrepresentation is about that very subject.
they have actually been an option for some time, but this was not made known to the rank and file in a formal article.
But this one is going to come back and bite them in the butt.
While I'd certainly like to think so.. I just dont see anything really hurting them that much at this point.
While their abandonment of the blood thing will cause some to fall away, perhaps because of the loss of family or friends in the past. Id say these folks are the minority and we all know what happens to those who make a stink about WTS doctrine.
I unfortunately think that the WTS is really bulletproof at this point, though it wouldnt be the first time I was wrong.
several months ago i requested my personal files from the wtsthey refusedi took it to the office of the privacy commission, who sent them a letter requesting the wts send me my informationthe watchtower society refused again saying that they are not covered by the australian privacy act 1988the privacy commission was going to close the case, but i convinced them not to take the wts at their word, so they sent a letter requesting more informationthe wts wrote back that they are not covered, on the technicality that their $16 million australian income comes from donations not turnover.
i just spoke to the privacy commission today and they do not agree with the wts's argument.
they are requesting more information from the australian bethel, and are prepared to put money into legal advice to examine any further argumentation that the watchtower provides.
Do you think they will really turn over a complete record though in the event that they are ordered to?

Yes, the big announcement will be to inform everyone that we are "deep in the last days" and that everyone needs to go out in field service more and study watchtower publications more.

i was looking up a couple of verses the other day in my nwt reference bible the one with larger print, footnotes, cross references, etc.
in my day i was quite a diligent student - the bible is filled with my notes and comments, and i'd already worn out another one earlier.
one of the things that i found surprising as i was reading my notes, was how often they were pointing out inconsistencies, contradictions and obvious lies in the biblical text.
One of the real downfalls of my faith was actually reading the bible. I eventually had to stop and throw out the bible that I was using, because of all of the notes that I had made in it.
i bet most people did not.
i think nearly everyone counted time spent on breaks.
or sitting in the car for an hour and a half while the elders did a "shepherding" call.
Yes and No.. When I had time during that month, I was pretty exact about what I recorded. I used the time honored if a break is less than 15 minutes you dont have to stop counting time and things of the sort.
If I had no time though... Id report one or two hours just to keep the elders off my case.
........................at my last meeting, the elder was talking about 1975 and said "it never happened, it is appostates using a time when (some) brothers took the info in the wt wrong"...................i just blinked and finally woke up.. i had been on this site lurking for a couple of weeks, and realized thing werent right, but to have some creep say on the platform " it didnt happen"............when this ruined my and my siblings childhood, just made me snap.
on the way home, i told my hubby "that was the last meeting im going to"................boy was he pleased.. .

My last one was a Sunday meeting in oct of last year. I probably wouldnt have atteneded that one except I was set to be the watchtower reader and I didnt want to miss it and call more attention to myself than I needed to if I was going to fade.
Despite wanting to be a fader, on the other hand I was tempted to go completely the otherway too. If I ever wanted to make a statement and how many more times would I have the chance to be on the platform like that? Since I hadnt told my family anything and some were in attendance, I had to take a pass...... Which is a nice way to say that I found an excuse to be a wuss.
