  Why does it take so long for lurkers to join ?

  how long did you lurk before joining ?and why?.

  it took me about a year before joining and posting.. i can sum up my reason in one word,.

  I lurked for a year too. There was a bit of fear, but I was not sure I wanted to participate in the bitterness and irreverence I saw here at that time - 2 years ago. The situation improved enough so that I decided to join.

  okay guys, this is for you.

  in your personal opinon what are the five mistakes women make in relationships?

  i know everyone is going to have a different answer but i'd like to see if there's a tread throughout.

  I'd like to offer a different perspective and answer a slightly different question:
  
  1. Dating a bad boy, and being surprised if he is not nice and/or faithful to you.
  2. Focusing on his looks and/or money. If he doesn't have anything else to offer, you aren't going to be happy for long.
  3. Faking it. Dishonesty will come back to haunt you.
  4. Relying too much on common interests to sustain the relationship. Interests/hobbies change. Common values and goals will sustain it over the long haul.
  5. Not having a list of dealbreakers. Take the time to write down the 5-10 qualities/habits, etc. that Mr. Right should have, and the 5-10 things he can't have. If a guy you're dating exhibits anything on your dealbreaker list, move on. This could also be considered strategically minimizing heartbreak.

  I had an interesting day.

  i worked at the restaurant this morning.

  i got up in time for breakfast so i was in a pretty good mood.

  i was assigned to the dining room so i basically had to greet customers, clean tables, make coffee and such.

  i told my mil that i am not going to cook for them and take a couple of weeks off and am not cooking a celebratory dinner for their asshole son that just got out of prison for drunk driveing and evading arrest.

  too much crap this month and i am just going to take care of me.

  i got a call from a few people on jwd and it was great, caring and wonderful folks.

  What emotions were you feeling as you started reading the posts on JWD?

  my reaction: shock and awe (tm).

  i was an elder and had just left bethel.

  i didn't want to believe what i was reading especially from current and former elders.

  I felt guilt because I wasn't supposed to be reading this, according to the WTS. I felt relief because I knew others felt the same way that I did about the org. I felt great sadness because so many were hurt or are hurting due to actions by other JWs.

  What XMas Present Would You Like This Year???

  one thing that jws do, whether they were "strong in the truth" or not is accept presents.

  even if they don't "celebrate" thanksgiving, they'd still take the turkey from the employer.

  if someone sent out a birthday gift or christmas present, a witness would still take but never givein return.

  What is your favorite classical music piece and artist?

  what are your favorite pieces and the artists?

  if you play an instrument, pick the piece that's your favorite to play or you wish you could play.. r.. my favorite is fantasy impromtu by chopin.

  What's your favourite food style?

  i've been really into indian lately myself, but went to a decent jamacian restaurant the other day.. the reason i'm asking is because my wife and i decided that once a week we're going to try making something totally different together, kind of a way to spend time together and at the same time eating awesome food (if it turns out) other then going to a restaurant.

  i'm kind of looking for different ideas of what to make.. kwin.
