I think you should ask your brother why you weren't included. Maybe your brother is as clueless as mine used to be, thinking if he mentioned it to you and you wanted to come, you'd invite yourself.

Wendy,
I can understand wanting revenge, but why are you punishing the other woman/women? If one stays with him, won't she receive punishment enough? -

??? for single moms
by frozen one inwhen you were dating a new guy, how did you introduce your kids to the guy?
in your experience what worked really well?
what didn't work out?.

I think conventional wisdom is to wait awhile before introducing a boyfriend to the kids. However, what if you wait 6 months or more, and then the kids don't like you or you don't like them? I was interested in a man I worked with, who was on a 6 month contract. The interest was mutual, but we both agreed it was a bad idea to date coworkers. We had to work on Saturdays occasionally, so I brought my daughter (age 5) to work and we all went out to lunch. I got to see how he interacted with my daughter. He had told me that he liked kids, but it was obvious that a very inquisitive, slightly messy kid who likes attention was more than he could be around for extended periods of time. I'm glad I "introduced" them before I got emotionally invested. After that, I decided to get more serious about being a JW, and didn't date at all due to the lack of 'suitable' candidates, so the issue really didn't come up again. My daughter is 18 now, and she doesn't like me dating, doesn't want to hear about my dates and doesn't want to meet them. She is very honest when she says that she doesn't want to share me. I'll figure out how to handle her when I get serious about someone.

"The Great Armageddon Retirement Fund" - A Rant by Princess Daisy Boo
by Princess Daisy Boo infirst a bit of background (in case you are not familiar with my family history)... my mom is 68, my dad is 63. they run their own small business which involves my dad travelling all over the country and my mom running the office.
my dad is an insulin dependant diabetic and my mom suffers from chronic high blood pressure.
my only sibling is a sister who is 27 and lives in bethal.she is a housekeeper and her husband repairs the shoes there.. today i call my mom to say hi... the conversation goes something like this..... me: so when are you going back to work mom?.

When I was a JW, and was questioned about why I was saving for retirement, I replied "I hope for the best (Armageddon), plan for the worst (retirement in this system). Besides, saving money is a great exercise in self-control and helps me to not be materialistic. " Most JWs changed the topic at that point, because JWs are as materialistic and into conspicuous consumption as "the world".

I like perfumes for about 30 seconds and after that they irritate my nostrils and throat. I found natural perfumes by Pacifica (yes, the candle and soap company) that I like. The only ingredients are essential oils and alcohol, and they don't seem to bother me. My current favorites: Tuscan Orange, which goes musky on me and Waikiki Pikake. The scents don't last all day long, but at 19.99, I could afford to apply it a few times. http://www.pacificacandles.com/perfume.asp

any thoughts?
by BIG D infor those of you that dont know me, i am a single dad with 3 boys for 5 years now, my x signed her rights away long ago.. .
no support ever, no insurance, even before she signed her rights away, many long stories of her abuse that caused her to lose custody to me years ago, she has never dealt with her abuse over even acknowledged it, i put my kids thru years of counseling, and they do not wish to see her, she has been calling alot lately, i dont hear from her for maybe 4 months at a time, she is crying , wanting to try to see them.. i must tell you she has , mentally , physically, and mentally sexually abused them, and then charged me with sexual abuse, with which it took me a year in evaluations, and family studies , and 35,000 in lawyer fees to disprove, and the judge saw her lies and removed them from her for abuse.
i also believe she has many emotional problems , both real and imagined.

Ask your kids how they would feel about a 60 minute supervised visit, if that's feasible.
