When Making Decisions - Do You View Taking Risks as Positive or Negative?
by flipper inyou know we all took a risk in leaving the jehovah's witness organization .
and for many of us this risk has proved to be a positive force in our lives .
it has opened up a new possibility of an uncharted, yet exciting future for us to pursue , whether it be going back to college and getting an education , or if we are religious , some here have found a more appropriate religion for themselves.

Why do you HATE to cook?
by GentlyFeral inme, i love cooking.
hearing someone say "i hate to cook" is like hearing "i hate being literate," or "i hate being able to walk.
" i just don't get it.. but there must be reasons - enlighten me, ok?.

I have to be in the mood to cook. The downside of cooking is all the cutting involved and then the timing to add ingredients or stir, etc. Somedays, it's stressful.

Journal of a JW - Introduction
by Nosferatu init's quite rare (or even non-existant) that we get to read the feelings and experiences of a faithful jw who is still in, and has not been influenced by apostate literature.
however, i have in my posession a journal written by a jw; a single woman in her 20s named kim.
i came into posession of her journal back in the mid-90s when i was still in myself.

Did you get her permission? IMO, this feels like a violation of privacy. I wouldn't like it if my journal was posted, even if the names were changed.

Went out to lunch (steak) and then browsed Borders bookstore. Had a good laugh at one title there: "How to Tickle his Pickle". Watched some cooking shows, and surfed the net. Checked an online dating site for some potential victims, er I mean dates.

Thinking about going GFCF (gluten "wheat" free and casein "milk" free)
by mrsjones5 infor the sake of my youngest son joshua who has autism specturm disorder.
it would mean overhauling my family's diet but i think it would be worth it.
i've found a few websites that look helpful like this one: http://www.gfcf-diet.talkaboutcuringautism.org/index.html and it seems encouraging and doable.. is anyone dealing with this dietary issue?.

My daughter had ear infections constantly when she was little. I removed dairy from her diet and the infections went down to 0 within 2 years.

Velta: Congrats and Happy Anniversary! Very beautiful: "By coincidence, today is my husband Joe's and my 59th anniversary.... Joe is almost 81 and has diabetes, but we love each other more than we did at the beginning of our marriage. One day, one of us will go on to be with our Lord (or as some believe on this board to non-existence) however our lives have been full. I will not regret whatever happens because I have loved and been loved largely. "
My feelings of infatuation lasted anywhere from 6 - 18 months. I don't think I've experienced true love. -

Hi Dinah,
I don't recall exactly when it happened, but I remembered turning 40 in 2003 and thinking "40 feels pretty good", especially compared to how bad I felt in 2000. I was still an inactive, liberal, fringe JW then. My apostate inclinations didn't surface until 2004. -

We were sitting on the couch watching some old movie. He looked at me then pushed me backwards and just devoured my mouth - all tongue, no lips. I tried to kiss him "properly" but it was useless. I was so embarrassed I just buried my face in the couch for a few seconds and then said "let's try that again with less tongue." He never did learn.
