  What are JW's leaders going to do when we hit the year 2014 and no Armaggdn

  we are fast approaching the year 2014 which will be 100 years since 1914. what are jw's and the wt going to do if armaggeddon has not occurred by then?

  will they come up with a bunch of "new light" to do away with 1914 all together?

  will they suddenly announce that jesus came into kingdom power in the year 2014?

  BAPTIZED with doubts

  when i was baptized in 1996 the elders knew that i had doubts.i told them i did, thinking that would get me off the hook.they bapitzed me anyway.the sisters that came to my door were relentless and i didn't want to be rude.anyone else have this sort of experience?

  I'm surprised they let you get baptized. Did they tell you to 'wait on Jehovah'? Or maybe the elders you spoke to also had doubts....

  did you forfeit a college education, a great paying job which would've kept you from the meetings, a career, a trade, your loved ones, a vacation, etc.

  so that you could be a good little witness?

  Lost my father - my mother signed the medical release on blood. I supported her decision. She still feels guilty to this day.

  Almost lost my mother after a botched surgery- I signed the medical release on blood at that time. This pushed my mother into inactivity, because she felt a sense of betrayal by my actions (bad JW) and felt guilty for feeling betrayed. To deal with it, she escaped into her job, becoming a workaholic and withdrew from the family for 15 years. So we lost her in a different manner.

  just got back from my brother'splace after being there for three weeks.

  i forgot how the org teaches you to view women.

  his wife just became the manager of a video store, and i felt so sorry for her when she was talking to him about her work.

  I have some shocking news, please sit down. A few years back, the WT had a positive article about a female lawyer on the staff at Canadian Bethel. So, when the legalities are done in service of the WTS, gender doesn't matter - much. I wonder if she's still there....

  I need help with a discussion with my parents!

  my parents are on the circuit, well educated, well intentioned and totally committed to the wts.

  for years i have argued with them over issues and doctrine.

  they know most things that are wrong with the wts but refuse to budge on the idea that it is the only true religion.
