Tres, if they want to they will. Two witnesses be damned. They only use that when they don't wanna disfellowship someone.
Me. Faded in 1999. not DF'd or DA'd. Forced to attend the memorial by my in laws.
what i mean is according to the society, there are a number of persons that are "technically" "inactive" yet are viewed as jws still.
i'm sure that i'm viewed as a witness still because i am not df'd or disassociated.....what about you??
?

my mom is an ex jw and was disfellowshipped in 1980. she is worried about my upcoming plans to picket the convention, she is afraid that i will get arrested and lose my job.
i told her this is basically something i feel i have to do and the only way to get this off my chest and feel a sense of satisfaction.
i assured her i wouldnt scream or cuss at people but would act civilized and pass out flyers concerning several issues.
If you need a permit and dont have one then they will just ask you to leave, which I suggest you do. That is, if you dont get a permit.
I also want to go on record to say that I don't think picketing is an effective way to make people think.
new policy.. pg17 "young ones, if you live in a land where the laws permits it, do you give god glory by witnessing in school, or do you allow fear of man to hold you back?.
begs the question since public preaching is banned in many places in the east does this mean that there is a whole class of non preaching jws?
pg19 "remember, though, that preaching is just one way in which we bring glory to jehovah.
Yes, a class of JW's who don't preach in schools. But not other times.
i was reading ecclesiastes 1 -3 today(excerpt is from chapter 2)..... and i'm not a bible scholar and dont claim any wisdom... but these scriptures seem to just say you live and you die regardless of who or what you do in life.
its all vanity...... is this the true wisdom of the bible?
that we exsist not by or for any reason.. we just exsist then we die..... end of story?
moment of zen

It matters to others, in that when we think about our society, and the impacts that we have on other people then our choices affect how others live.
Solomon was a selfish, spoiled person, and his writings reflect his self centered viewpoint.
below is a sample of arguments in which neither side seems to be able to prove for a fact which one is correct.
when the time comes in which there is no doubt.....perhaps belief systems will change.. .
if the critics are correct.....one would be forced to re-examine the flood story with it's current accepted dating time.
Or it could prove nothing.
What about glacial core samples? What about the sheer scientific incredulity of something like the flood happening?
i remember reading one time in a religious periodical discussing the watchtower society and its founder, charles taze russell, that as he approached his end he requested that his body be placed in a roman toga.
i found that odd and wondered where they had gotten that tidbit.
this weekend i found the answer in the memorial issue dedicated to charles taze russell in the dec. 1, 1916 watch tower.
Probably because of the verse in Revelation where it speaks of them wearing "white robes". too bad there weren't any palm branches on the train...
i took the wife and kids to see i, robot with will smith last night....great movie.
my son is a real issac asimov fan.
he said asimov would have hated the movie, but that he really enjoyed it.. come to think of it, i'd be hard pressed to name a will smith movie i don't like.
well bladerunner is probably in the top 3-5 of sci fi movies
thats hard to live up to
that was one of those movies i was kind of curious about but didn't feel compelled to actually pay money to see, at least not over and above what we pay for direct tv each month.
so we watched it.
and i have a question for members of both sexes: would you be able to trust a partner who starts the relationship with a lie?.
If you have a good relationship who cares what it started on. Live in the NOW!
"pursuing my purpose in life, as told by hazel o. burford" w55 11/1, pgs 653-656. in 1941, when working isolated territory in western kentucky, we attended the zone (now circuit) assembly at cape girardeau, missouri.
while preparing the evening meal in the cafeteria i was called to answer a long-distance telephone call offering me the privilege of helping to nurse brother rutherford, then very ill in a hospital in elkhart, indiana.
shocked by news of his illness, overwhelmed by tremendous responsibility i would be expected to shoulder, my first reaction was to refuse; but, ever fearful of refusing an assignment for fear another would not be given, i prayerfully accepted.
You mean the whole association of Jehovah's Witnesses? Who isn't a yes-man?
