Yeah, i'm not talking about the JW angle, but any of these people who write their little songs and write their little poems about how f***ed up life is and how everyone is just screwed up and the whole world has gone to hell bother me. Why don't we just wipe everyone off the face of the earth and start over? The witnesses would certainly agree.

Geez why should I even go out of my house? Yeah, life sucks so hard, we are all just living in a pit of filth and beng ruled by "the man", senselessly eeking out a futile existence. Life is so bleak its no wonder that I sit on the couch all day eating doritos and smoking joints and writing songs about how hard snowflakes have it. I mean for Chrissakes why don't I just go blow my head off right now?

A question for Pagans--what's happening at my hous
by Kingpawn inby now many of you know i'm studying wicca, am in contact with a high priestess of a coven who's graciously answering many questions i have, and i'm also studying tarot cards online.. this past weekend the exercise with lesson three on the tarot was to do some sample readings.
some odd things have happened since then.
i bolded them for easier finding.. since then, my youngest daughter and i have heard a scratching sound that i took to be birds on the spouting, though we couldn't see it.

Its like when you buy a car, you think that nobody has the same car and then after you buy it you start to see way more than you used to. The number of 1977 Volvo sedans didn't suddenly increase, you just started to notice them because something in your own life changed.

((((( Elsewhere )))))
first off, let me just say how sorry I am that your family treats you this way. It is despicable and indicative of the true evil of this organization.
I think that therapy is always a good idea in situations such as these. It helps to have a professioal to talk toand work through these issues. I think the ulimate goal, even though you said you don't want it, is to come to terms and be at peace with your situation. You have to bear in mind the lock that their religion has on their minds and this effects their actions toward you. Hopefully things will get better, but if they do not it is out of yur control and thats what you have to be at peace with. It also helps to have friends and I hope that this board and others that you know help in that regard. Its very theraputic to come here and read the experiences of those who have lived through the same things that we have.
I sincerely hope that things get better between you and your family Elsewhere.

Yeah, some people don't take this sort of thing that well, if they aren't mentioned it can hurt because they may feel they are trying to reach out to people, but they may not be as good as others are. Some people also get punished for speaking their mind. No matter who gets listed in this thread I think that most of the regular posters here have a pretty good idea of who they like, who they don't like, who they feel comfortable with, who they trust and who has been a friend to them. You can't strip human nature out of the equasion, this board is a microcosm of real life, we all have personalities that we have to deal with, some good traits, some bad. Just bear in mind that the more you let people grate on your nerves, the more miserable and short your life will be. Maybe you want it that way, but its just my advice.
That being said, I think i'll forgo actually listing people, but I won't say that I like everyone the same either. I have my preferenmces on this board, I think we all do. I have to say that I appreciated Skeptic giving me an honorable mention, even though I gave him a little hell about xenawarrior. That was classy Skeptic, thanks. Even though I still maintain you are a sexual freak, but hey, maybe thats cool for you. And reborn, don't take things too hard, it's time for you to heal, but you have to take a deep breath, pause and dwell on some good things in your life, its healthy for you, man. I think you are a good person inside and you definitely bring something to the board.
So, even though I didn't really make a list of people, I don't object to this thread. Its all about a shout out to your friends. We are allowed to have friends aren't we?

I thought that the way they came up with the number was by counting back 70 years from when they think the temple was restored in Jerusalem, they don't actually go off of any archaeological or historical facts.

Elements of Change
by Sentinel indear friends,.
every day of our lives we are affected by our own perceptions of what we were, what we have become, and what we hope to be.
i believe that our experiences with the wtbts have significantly made us each aware of how vital it is to find our joy and happiness and hold onto it like a prized possession.. i have been finding myself rather annoyed at how materialistic our society is, especially during this season, and i can't seem to find where "christmas" is in all of this.

Bear in mind also that there are people giving to others things they truly need. There are people buying presents for others who will really appreciate them and are not leading themselves into bankruptcy. Bear in mind that there are many, if not most people who are content with their life and living it day to day. Bear in mind that this whole world really isn't going down the toilet as much as the daily news would like you to believe simply because it sells more papers. Life isn't so bad. It's not perfec either, but then again a perfect life would be boring, at least to me it would be.
We sometimes get caught up in looking for all the evil in the world that we fail to see the good that surrounds us, or we choose to only see the evil side to something without acknowledging the good. Sure, people are materialistic, but is that anathema to happiness? If someone is overly so, certainly they would face the concequences down the line.
If you see people in need, then help them. If you see someone lonely, then be their friend. For me, the meaning of life is being contented and grateful for the gift that life is, no matter what good and bad things happen to us in it, I'd rather be alive than dead.
All I ask of you is to take a moment and reflect on the good that you see around you, ask yourself whats right with the world? If you can't do that, then we might as well all be killed off by the Witness God's Armageddon.
