  My Dad Died Today

  he has been ill for some time, but it was still unexpected.

  he was never a jw and i didn't really have a close relationship with him, since he remarried after my parents divorced.

  i reunited with him in the mid 90's after over 10 years of not seeing him.. .

  Need some support

  i don't post very often but i'm in need of some support.. i left my husband and the jw's back in the summer.

  we have 3 kids and have joint custody of them.. i've spoken to my family once - back in the fall and it was a great conversation - my parents (dad is an elder) said that they just wanted me to be happy however that is.. last week i got a voicemail from my mom saying that she loved me and thought about me every day.

  i was so happy.

  Hang in there. The fact that you can already see that you are a better mom is a great sign. Definitely look for support from some non-jw's. Is your whole family JW's? As far as your children they will far so much better without the negative and repressed lifestyle of JW.s. Always come here for advice or just to vent with people who understand first hand.

  No work but volunteer at the hall?

  so my brother who is in construction(home improvement) has no work.

  my "elder" dad says he and a few other "brothers" were working on the kingdumb hall.

  i said that's good at least they are making a little money.

I said that's good at least they are making a little money. My dad says oh no it's volunteer. I say that is ridiculous they would have to pay someone anyway why not throw the guys something even $50 bucks. "Oh no that's not how JW's are it is strictly volunteer". I say my church has a fund that helps people who need it and it is just given. Then the conversations ends as usual.

  Hello all. I haven't been on this site in quite sometime. I use to be on all the time. I am in Ct now but raised on Long Island NY. My Father (turning 90)

  still an elder was the CO/PO? whatever growing up in Farmingdale. Of my three brothers one still remains a staunch JW(with wife). I've been out(escaped) since my mid 20's. Any major news over the past year or two?

  Birthday party for my brother dad not attending.

  so my sister-in-law is having the first birthday party my older (60)brother has ever had.

  calls my jw elder dad(88)to tell him she wants to send a ticket to him to come.

  of course my dad tells me "my conscience would bother me" so he's not coming!

  Hey Purps,how are you Merry Christmas Happy New Year.. Just got done watching all the videos you and the others posted for favorite music. Loved it! Radiohead is my fav! I was just going to pm you to ask how to upload from you tube to this site...I want to join in...Wow I just highjacked my on thread.. Champ My son sang at Christmas Eve service at our church..he did an amazing rendition on guitar of Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuele..of course my video was not charged.

  it figures that the one time i start a topic and it turns into 10 pages long, it's about my dad!!

  the funeral will be held next monday, december 29th, at radcliffe crematorium.

  I am so sorry about your dad. I too read so many of his post when I first got here. You are blessed to have such a wonderful, loving dad. May his presence be with you and your mom and all you siblings, and friends......He will be missed!
