  i'm not sure where to start, probably in two major areas.

  mechanics thing, that can't work, and what i see as the lack of true love in the brotherhood.

  i've been in "the truth" or lack thereof, for about 30 years, give or take a little.

  there was some publicity in australian newspapers a couple of years ago about schools not singing christmas carols etc due to respecting the beliefs of our minority students. Australia has some large moslem and bhuddist communities. I don't think the suggestions took hold, as my kids still sing these songs at school.

  It reminds me of "south Park's" angle on a similar issue........ (yep, call me a sickie........i love southpark)

  anyway I emailed my comments to the newspaper concerned:

  feel the banning of the hotcross bun is pandering to a desire for political correctness run amok.

  the witness's choose not to believe in the cross. why should everyone else kowtow to their ideosyncracies.

  what next - demolishing all "crossroad intersections"!!?

  I've been following this with interest as it has personal significance for me.

  I wondered whether anyone had spoke to Ray Franz about this. Just finished reading COC and he did drop a little hint in that book.........he was deploring the fact that some disfellowshipped "apostates" had been branded homosexual by the rumour mill. He speculated that these rumours started because a bethel heavyweight had recently been dismissed for homosexual tendencies.

  Just wondered if anyone had gotten his angle on this, as he speaks warmly of leo greenlees elswhere in his book. I know he has replied to emails from many xjw's

  ive been reading this forum for a long time, but this new situation has come up and now it looks like i need your help.

  i thought i dodged a bullet.

  my wife and i were both jws, and we both left it together.

  Hi and welcome to the board.

  sometimes it is easier to walk away, and things do change. I don't think any marriage is always happy, (not in human nature to be happy all the time), but if you don't experience lows then you can't appreciate the highs. I don't think there is anything wrong in kids seeing parents argue, up to a point. as long as they see you made up too....................but when it's at the stage of separate bedrooms it's getting pretty drastic.

  have you been to marriage counselling? I would recommend that before you make any decisions. both of you need to go for this although you can have solo sessions as well as together.

  was your old congregation one of those that got together and publicly, noisily, happily destroyed your records?

  mine was.

  it was pretty dumb because most of us replaced our albums within about a year after missing music that we liked in the first place.

  australia has a severe shortage of skilled workers and is targeting brits - very successfully.. last year nearly 100,000 brits moved here.. the australian 4 feb... "the big lure wasn't economic..it was a new lifestyle and better opportunities for the kids.

  and the big sweetener was the exchange rate.

  prospective workers owned homes worth about (pounds)160,000 to 190,000, or about $450,000.

  I think if you have the skills wanted you'd be welcome.

  Australia used to have a "white Australia policy", some decades ago, but is a huge multicultural mix now. And despite what you read and maybe saw on TV the mix generally works well with good tolerance.

  I've never regretted our family's move from Scotland. although it can be difficult for people who feel isolated from their support network in the old country.

  just the better weather alone makes it a better lifestyle................come on you guys, get over here and join us..............we don't bite!

  (well the ocassional shark, spider, and snake maybe, but you got more chance of being smashed up on the M1!)

  i tried to show the nature of jehovah to my mother and neice by using the story of the levite and the concubine and the awful carnage of the innocents jehovah santioned as a result of one rape and murder (judges 19-21).

  they were both supporting jehovah's sanctioning of the murder of thousands of men, women and children.

  at one point they said that i was getting too precious about the murdered children, that they would inevitably become like their parents, 99% of whom were innocent in this story anyway, and that what good would it do to leave them alive if the bread provider was dead in battle, better to finish them off too.
