i've just read a news article that stated that in a recent international survey, britain was voted the best country in the world, but the british people the most boring.. i do wonder what people think of us brits, they seem to have some wild idea that we all drink tea and play cricket, they seem quite unaware of the loutish behaviour that many of us are embaressed about.. what do you think?

I was answering in the context that the question was written. If someone had asked are Scots boring that would have been a whole different answer/question.
I will always be Scottish first, still have my accent, (we never lose it usually..........did you Slugga?) - So there!

1-i've been feeling the need to talk to some ex-jw's out there.

Welcome to the group, good to have you posting. It's great that you went out and worked for your career goal. Not such a long time in the scheme of things.
I was raised a witness and left when I was 21, for many years I felt deep down that I was the problem, the black sheep, a minority in leaving...............
now I know how many people have felt the same way as me. This is such a good place to learn, share, support, and get support. Stick around and share some more!

i have lately started to think many things over.
as i adquire more knowledge, or other kind of knowledge, i see things more and more in another light.
it's a strange and thrilling experience i'm going through.

but i also agree with:
It's about mind control, not about keeping the congregations clean.
And besides, most of those "double-lifers" have guilt issues. We all know how the Organisation likes to keep people feeling guilty.
I think that with the minefields of information now freely available on the internet the society really has to "turn the screws", or else the whole pack of cards could come tumbling down!
I look forward to your updates on this issue when you sound a few others out!

i'm still a jw but doing a lot of researching on the history of the wts.
Meant to say. Check out www.jwfacts.com, an aussie poster here. He started doing research like you, and the floodgates opened.
another good site is www.jwtruth.com which mainly concentrates on the blood saga, and there's a wealth of more information in the "best of" section in this site compiled by ladylee.

i heard that word used to describe being raised a jehovah's witness recently.
it made me think and put things in i think there proper perspective.
anyone who was born/raised a witness or even those who came later who were lured by their words are truly victims.

I'd also recommend Ray Franz's book as he has some great thought provoking details, written in a loving, non bitter manner.
other things that may be worth discussing is the changes in the blood policy, the paedophilia cover-ups, and the Mexico/Malawi hypocracy. Although sometimes it can be better to plant a few seeds, and take it slowly as too much could cause bad feeling between you.
My parents have refused to believe the things I told them. ("lies spread by apostates"), and I'm cooling it just now rather than upsetting them more.
