  Arrangement!..everything from the marriage~~~ to the elder ~~~ etc. etc.
  'Happifying' drove me nuts, as did 'behooves' and phrases like " do we not.....?".

  Mystery Flowers

  i received a beautiful bouquet of tulips back in february after my breakdown that ended up being the gateway to my wts escape.

  the tulips were left outside my apartment door.

  i tried, in vain, to find out who gave them to me.

  Strange Habits You Realised You Have

  i recently realised i have a strange habit that's been noticed by others: i look in people's fridges when i'm over at their house.

  it's just a reflex action, and i only recently became aware of it.. what strange habits have you discovered that you didn't realise you had?.

  I'm a compulsive counter, in multiples of 5. I add up car number plates and if I'm following one I'll add it up in different orders. If I'm very nervous I'll count how many steps I take to get out of a room but it must be in multiples of 5 or 2 1/2!

  Can JW's use Pluto's "aborted" Planethood to prove their "new light".

  i thought i had heard everything that jw's could come up with but my mom came up with a good one.

  she was trying to say that jw's are right with their "new light" doctrine by comparing scientist's erroneous belief that pluto was a planet but no longer they believe that.

  she said that millions of people that criticize jw's for saying new light won't even bat an eye about the change on pluto and will still send their kids to school to study science with the same teachers that for years taught pluto was a planet.

  The important distinction is that others ADMIT they were wrong. The Org. will NEVER do such a thing as it would give the lie to not being Gods Organization. I have never heard the WTS say 'we got it wrong,sorry'.
  
  Medical and scientific people rarely claim divine understanding.

  Hampstead, welcome to the board. You are in a very difficult spot. I suspect your G/F has been given the frighteners by the elders to toe the line. You need to be aware RIGHT NOW that your girlfriends allegiance can only be to the Organisation if she wants to be accepted/re-instated.
  
  My advice, and that of others here, will be to step back from the girl you love and think about whether you are willing to accept that The WT Society will control nearly every little aspect of your lives.
  
  Stay a while and do some reading here if you haven't already. Most, but not all, here are ex-witnesses.

  i could use some advice on how to handle this situation.

  my wife and i are almost divorces (she has finally signed the papers...what an ordeal).

  Best wishes Low Tech. I can imagine you must be having a dreadful time. If you're able, let your wife and daughter see you calm and reasonable even if you feel like s***. This will be to your benefit in a custody case. Especially being a man.

  if you live in or near toronto are you going to the international movie festival?

  yours truly and my missus, one of twelve, appear in the film 'out of the blue'.

  it premieres on the 11th sept. the whole thing has been kept secret from the cast and we wont get to see it ourselves until october/november.

  I thought they were ALL volunteers.
  No need to pay redundancy, boot you out when you're too old or chronically sick or talk to disapproved people.
  Employees would have workers rights.
