Questioning Russell's background is gossip, so don't do it
by Robert7 inso i attended the sunday meeting yesterday, and i saw an example of a preemptive strike against those questioning the borg's russel and rutherford.. after about 25 minutes of the talk of blah blah blah (i cannot even recall any details) the speaker concludes by saying (paraphrased):.
"there are those who wonder about the allegations made against russel and rutherford.
we do not know them, so isn't that gossip?

I think a lot of us on this board have been all 'U.N ed'out! But we need to remember that there are lots of new posters who know nothing of this incredible scandal.
That the borgs damage control worked so well is shown by the fact that elders I've spoken to know nothing of the matter. If they do, they parrot the official line that it was necessary to get a library card in order to have access to UN publications.
Of course, that's as hypocritical as saying that " I had to join the Y.M.C.A. in order to be able to use their swimming pool."
The Watchtower has clearly stated over the years that this kind of membership would make you a part of Babylon the Great and you would be disfellowshipped forthwith.
The Watchtower Society was able to keep its membership secret for nearly eleven years!
And they got outed by a reputable newspaper reporter for The Guardian. -

In Dunedin, NZ we're paying the equivalent of US$5.72 per gallon of 89 octane petrol. (i.e. NZ$1.79 per litre.)
<br><br>Although our incomes are lower than the US our cost of living generally is lower too. So I figure our pain at the pump is similar to yours.

Learning here about the WTBTS fornication with The Wild Beast (UN) for eleven years and remembering that my mother couldn't stay in a YMCA hostel for a short while because it was part of false religion.
I actually thoroughly researched the UN drama and found it to be completely true.
I could never return to a hypocritical organisation. -

JW divorce rate higher than adverage - pew forum
by drew sagan inone statistic that i haven't seen talked about that was contained in the pew forum research poll was divorce rate.
i was kind of shocked to see that when it comes to the percentage of members who are divorce jw's pulled an extra 2% over the national average.
in this research poll only three groups come in higher than jws and two of them go under the categories of other christians & other faiths.

This pew thing has been quite interesting. But with regard to the 14% divorce rate I think qcmbr is correct viz "....people who are quite often in need of support (maybe after a divorce!)"
It may possibly be that a large percentage of these divorcees are sisters whose husbands committed adultery when they started attending meetings / studying etc. etc. You know the story ;( -

Oh no.....

i've been feeling worse every minute, my body aches, my head hurts, my eyes burn and i feel like i've been run over by a mack truck and i just want to lay down and go to sleep.

Actually I got a cold last night and now I've got a runny nose and headache. And I'm all alone because the kids are at school and my wife is working at the hospital.
Anyway, I have to be near death to go to the doctor.
And what about my wife ? She makes the kids get injections for diseases they don't even have ! -
