"I love thoughts like this, as you have to contemplate the Butterfly effect."
I was thinking, as I read your post, that perhaps Jesus death was the real pivotal thing. The tribal and religious allegiances at that time, the capture of land and the hatred of Jews.
Germany produced great art, literature, music and machinery but the ambivalence toward Jews by the U.S. and England enabled their cruel persecution by even the common German to take place.
Funnily, the more I read about world history, the more I think that apart from the technology, human behaviour and attitude has never really changed much.
Despite what the WT tried to tell me.

Watchtower says JW's can reach different conclusions & it's fine!!!
by Must obey! inwatchtower study article "responding to your conscience" (october 15, 2007, pages 25-29, studied december 3-9, 2007) .
dealing with, inter alia, oral sex, contained what i thought was an interesting new way of describing how jw's can form their own personal, and different, conclusions and that no one needs to be 'disturbed' by this.
i have never seen the watchtower describe it quite this way, even in relation to conscience matters like whether to attend a church wedding.

I think you've made a well considered observation mustobey and the use of 'disturbed' in this context I've not seen before.
But The Watchtower Society are experts at the use of subtlety and shades of meaning with the words they use,
I see no actual change of view in reality from what they've ever had.
Many of us will remember the article using the illustration of the brother who was contracted to paint a church door. (1980's) His conscience might or might not allow him to do it but would he stumble another who observed him painting it. The 'strong' Witnesses agreed they wouldn't do it.
The Society is starting to give the outward appearance of being less strict so as to avoid future litigation.
A crack has been opened somewhere and the lawyers are flat out patching it. -

Why does my cat drool saliva when he purrs?
by Fisherman ini have a cat that cannot stop purring when he is with me, when i carry him or put him on my lap he drools saliva all over me.
he cannot stay still on my lap.
he moves all the time and demands to be petted all of the time again and again.. this is the only cat that i have ever owned.

I've got six cats and only one dribbles when he purrs. But he's got to be really happy. He combines this with pumping his paws up and down on the bedspread/ jumper/crutch.
These two behaviours are really common.
Might have rabies though. (just kidding. ) -

Welcome GG. I'm going to read your past posts and get a better idea of what's happening to you.
You obviously love your husband and know the 'truth'. If I was in your shoes my guts would be turning. You need to keep in love with him and keep sane. Maybe he's going to get his mid life crisis out of the way early?!
Best wishes,

Weirdest People you've met while Witnessing!!! {Nut cases}
by Witness 007 ini once called on a guy who invited us straight in...then told us he was "lazarus son of god.
" he had a cazy look in his eye, and would repeat this line every few minutes.
the brother with me was trying to "reason from the scriptures" that he in fact could not be lazarus...i just wanted to leave.

Yep! The weirdest ones were always the pubs. that no one would work with and I got lumbered with. Like Peter XXXXX who would always wear his pyjamas under his suit and there was always an inch of floral flannelette poking out from under his trousers. Actually he was a bit deaf and often he would look up from his Bible and find the door shut and the householder gone! LOL

by Cindi_67 incan prisoners be reformed?.
all too often, prison is simply a training ground for more serious crimes.

"I have to hand do over a 1000 square feet..."
- Course it'll work, get the husband to do it! Seriously though, I use a couple of buckets of warm sugar soap and a stiff broom so I'm not on my knees.
"....some edges saturated with dog pee...will that work? "
- Good question. I think the answer is do it anyway and make sure the dog pee and soap dries out completely. The pee could be helpful. I know in some textile fields it's used to set dye! -

Amateur advice here. I have several large decks and prior to restaining I scrub them with sugar soap and a stiff brush. Let dry out for a couple of days. Brush stain on. Looks new again. I always use a good quality oil based stain on my tanalised pine.
BTW, my seasons sound similar to Brother Apostate in Pennsylvania.
